We have only four guidelines:
- Companion Havanese, Show Havanese, and Breeding Havanese are all welcome, and they're all equally beautiful, lovable, and perfect creatures at our events (ALL small dogs are always welcome at the beach walks every Saturday morning - see www.ForTheDogs.net
No females during their heat please
. It drives the boys wild!
No retractable leashes
. Our gatherings are primarily (not exclusively) off-leash. Pine Lake Park is not fence-enclosed, but it is in a canyon and quite far from the road. If your dog does not go off-leash, please use something other than a retractable leash at our gatherings, as they can become hazardous.
Just down-to-earth dog play
. We love sharing experiences and helpful dog care tips, but if you are an expert on breed standards, dog behavior, or anything like that, please don't wear your "expert" hat. Some of our Hav's (and guardians) don't care much about things like "breed standards," and we want everybody to know that their dog is a perfect Havanese at our gathering (as long as it isn't attacking any of us or the other dogs).
