Sneezing

I saw Cosmosmom said her Havs do this also. When I sneeze, my dogs go nut. Goldie attacks me with kisses and Stogie brings me Toys.
I wonder why they do this. They can be involved in something else all together and rush over to check on me.

Does anyone else experience this? I wonder WHY?

The only dog I've ever had that reacted to sneezing was my 125 lb shepherd. Every time my hubby sneezed, Moses would come running with this scared/gulity look on his face and start licking Alex like crazy. Now, Mozes was by no means a shy dog. He was actually quite an alfa male. I guess the sneezing just spooked him.

My dogs all run up to me and look to see if I just yelled at them of if I am OK. After I say each of their names, they wag their tails and go on with their business.

Riley does the same thing, my only problem is I have sneeze attaches where I sneeze 10 – 20 times and in between each sneeze I am getting kissed to death. Our new guy Monte has caught on to this game very quickly so now I have 2 dogs kissing me to death while I am sneezing…

Skiver does the same thing, he runs up and kisses me like crazy when I sneeze! It's so funny! Like, "Mommy, are you okay? What happened?". LOL. But he must be used to my DH sneezing, he sneezes really loudly, and now Skive just ignores him

I thought it was just Kodi being his very sensitive self. He gets so protective when I sneeze. Shelby just looks at me like "what was that?"

I agree they just seem concerned and want to be sure I am OK .
Also I read that sneezing in dogs can be a way to express anxiety or nervousness so maybe they think I am having a panic attack !!

Leeann, what a hoot!! I'm sure it's hard to sneeze when you're laughing like crazy!! LOL

So far, we haven't seen any reactions in our two.

I guess I never sneezed before. Lucky me. But with all these posts, I had to try it to see what happened. Guess what Houston does? He sneezes back. LOL That is too funny. I am thinking I am on to a new trick........ I used to have a Collie/Poodle mix when I was a wee little one and I taught her how to sneeze on command.

Interesting post! Dora also goes nuts when we sneeze but she goes even more nuts when other dogs do the sneeze thing. One of her friends from puppy hood is a black pug that has that really scary reverse sneezing problem. Dora rushes her and jumps in her face when she does it. It is almost like she is trying to help her. I have to pull her away while her mom covers her face and calms her down.
