Sad Day :( - Not Gibbs Related

My heart breaks today. Ginger, my sisters dog, has been everything a dog can and should be. She is Bichon and the best dog I've ever known. She's 11 years old and has recently taken ill. The past month and half has been a real struggle for my sister, niece and nephews. They've had to force the medication into her which has been emotionally hard on my nephew. He is the only one capable of forcing Ginger to drink the medication. He leaves for school everday with tears in his eye. Ginger no longer eats or drinks, and has gotten frail.

My nephew told my sister that it's time to let Ginger go. The medication isn't working and she is suffering. My sister is taking Ginger to the Vets today to end her suffering.

We all got together last night to say our good-byes, and even thought we know it's best for her, we will miss her this Christmas.

John

I'm so sorry. Your sister and her family are doing the right thing, as I'm sure both you and she know. I also know that it doesn't make it any easier to see a beloved family member go. Hugs to you and your whole family.

Thank you all.

My news doesn't seem so important after hearing about Lorraine.

So sad – sorry for your loss and your sister’s loss. That couldn’t have been easy choice for her but the right one to let her stop the suffering and go peacefully.
