Help

We have a hurricane coming at us and I'm trying to figure out what to pack. The first things set out were my Dad's ashes and things from him and so far I have the dog's books, the dog brushes, and a couple of pieces of clothing.
I can replace clothing, makeup, and general stuff but if you had ten things you couldn't leave behind what would they be?
BTW, the people in Baton Rouge still have it very hard. This is day 10 without power. Add humidity to the heat and that's a heck of a mess. My heart really goes out to them.

I'd take DH, the kids and the doggie! Some pictures, important papers, and then I'd get the hell out!!!

Godspeed Jan, we'll be praying that you're safe. As one of my southern friends say, "I'm prayin' you strong, girl!"

Just a few suggestions: Medication, pictures, jewelry, checkbook/cash.

I have several friends in TX and I got Jake & Jazz from a breeder in TX. I am keeping everyone in my thoughts and prayers. Be safe.

I think I would have to take all these things before I left the house. In fact, I may make a plan if we ever have a fire etc.. of where all these items are. If it was something like a hurricane, I would probably rent a Uhaul. Jan, this is a good thing to think about.. thanks! OH and all of the below is assuming I have my dogs.. the spouse is debatable. KIDDING!

I would take:
1) all my photos and albums
2) my Computer and Hard Drives and back up CD's
3) my jewelry
4) my Wall Art including my Africa souvenirs
5)my shoes and handbags
6)my sofa
7)Important Paperwork, like ss card and birth certificate.. tax documents etc.
8)my favorite PJ's
9)my plates
10) depending on space.. either my rugs or my sunglasses.

I had a dream we had to evacuate and we went to NYC. random.

I have a fire proof safe in my house, which I would take in an emergency. So on top of your people and dogs and pictures, and as much cash as you can access, I would take the things in my fireproof safe:
passports
Soc Security cards
savings bonds
copy of will and trust
expensive jewelry
copy of credit card numbers with contact phone numbers
copy of inurance information
birth certificates

We pray for your safety.
