ANYONE IN IKE'S PATH? OUR PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU!

Anyone on here live in Ike's path? I have family in the Houston/Freeport area. Some have evacuated, some haven't. I also have family in La. My prayers are for everyone's safety.

Many prayers all! We are only getting small storms from Ike so far. We do have family/friends in Houston and some in LA but so far none have evacuated.
Please stay SAFE and know our prayers are with you all!

Well that would be me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I asked my husband this morning did he was me to call in to school today and we could head out to St. Louis and spend time with family but he said no we would be okay. We just went thru Gustav and made it hope we are that lucky this time. I know I was much better off than Kim with Gustav. He is normally at work with hurricanes so he has never stayed with one in our path. Hopefully we will be okay with this one also. Needless to say, my students at school were very excited about it because they are hoping we don't have school on Monday. We are not as far down south as most in Louisiana...Worried about my friends in Texas...and I just bought a new cell phone and not all of the numbers transferred over and the old cell will not even think about turning on.............makes me sick!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a niece near Lufkin, Tx and she told me she thinks they will just have heavy winds. I'm praying she will be okay. If anyone knows about that area, please post any news.

I just saw on CNN were they said that in the city where all the high rises are, for every 10 floors above the 10th floor the wind picks up by 10mph.

Hope everyone is safe! Don't take any chances if you don't need to. Your Havs need you.

Chances are if your parents never had kids...you won't either...

I'm thinking about folks in the path of Ike too. I do hope it doesn't turn out as badly as anticipated. November can't come soon enough so we can rid ourselves of hurricane season!! It's getting old!!!

They said only 53% evacuated Galveston. Thats scary because they think there will be sure deaths if people stayed. Im praying for everyone!
