pupspectation!!!!

I know you know what I am talking about....when you furbabes come to you and sit in front of you with that look of expectation!!! Some times they whimper, sometimes they paw... you say "what is it?" what do you want?" and their ears cock, sometimes they spin in circles because "they think" you know what they want!!!!

Do YOU know what they want when they look at you that way?

Yes, I can read her mind. She says "Reach into that fridge and grab another piece of Boarshead chicken breast for me, and while you're up, check for some bluberries in there. They can't be out of season already...".

That is the cutest picture! He looks like he is wearing eye glasses the way the hair is and the slight line across his nose. He looks like a very smart fellow!

I love the new word! Pupspectation

Saydee gives me that pupspectation look at least 20 times a day. Just like Brooke said about Kona, Saydee whimpers all morning when I have to work at the computer. She's the neediest little dog I've ever had, but in the most precious way. How can you resist? I've come to the following conclusions regarding pupspectation and I'd love to hear anyone else's ideas, too:

Here's my theory:
1.) We all know Havanese are very intelligent right? I think they are so eager to learn and eager to please, they are literally waiting on your every move. They want to learn a new trick or play a game or do SOMETHING interesting to keep their little busy puppy minds satisfied.
2.) Our pups love us! How many times have you sat down only to have your furbaby climb into your lap and chew on a toy? It's not good enough to have a chew toy. It's common Hav knowledge that chew toys taste better when chewed in mom/dad's lap!
3.) Sometimes they just know they're cute. Period.

What do YOU think?

Ohhhhhhhh THEY SOOOOOOOO know they're cute. You know they do! They think in their cute little minds " If i sit here and whimper, and bark, and throw in a head cock every now and again, I am destined to get what I want b/c I am ADORABLE"!

Whaaaaaaaat?????

Here's a picture of the look I get from Tess when we're on a walk and she stops dead in her tracks and won't move another step.

That's usually my question: "Whaaaaatttt????

Her pupspectation? "Get it off of me, get it off of me!!!!"

I've learned that this look (different from I just want to stop and sniff the air) means she has a twig, or leaf, or piece of grass, stuff to her foot/belly/tail/butt and she wants it off --- now!

I've tried to explain that all she has to do is reach behind her and pull it off, but no, it's much easier to make mom reach down and take it off.

One of us is very well trained.

Well now ain't THAT the truth??

But my most favorite "look" is the one when he is sitting in my lap chewing that special toy or flossie treat...and he leans back and looks up at me with that "aren't we lucky we have each other??", look.

I just melt.

Jean, Riley and Zeus!
