Getting Readdy for Halloween....Question!

So...we're thinking about costumes for the doggies this year. Me and my SO were joking around about how our Hav, Bailey, can be a Grinch. He huffs a lot and always wines/huffs when we pick him up and hold him like its the most painful thing he's ever been through. He's very independent! haha

So, we thought making him Mr. Grinch would be funny. We found a dog Santa costume and were wondering if there was any temporary hairspray for dogs, or something that is safe for dogs and their coat? We'd love to put him in the Santa costume and then color his face hair green!

Then we also found these cute antlers for out other dog so they can go as a pair!!! http://www.farmgoodsforkids.com/p-10...g-costume.html

Ok...so I posted in excitement before I researched a bit. We've been out of power for 2 days...waiting to search for the costume and ideas!

I've read in a few places that food coloring or kool-aid may be a good choice?

Bailey is all white...so I don't want something that might stain or not wash out.

Also.... I only want something that is safe for him! I would never do anything to harm my baby!!!

My groomer dyes some of her client's dog's coats for Halloween and Easter. I think she uses a certain type of food coloring. It doesn't wash right out though. She says it takes several baths before it is all out. I thought of doing it to my girls for Halloweeen but then I thought about the weeks after when they would still be pink or green or some other color.
I think PetEdge or some other online place sells color pens for temporary color.

I had no idea they made temporary colors for dogs, how fun!! Do you need to use a special shampoo to get it out?

What about just using the "hair spray" stuff that is used on humans for halloween and/or school spirit? I'm only planning on maybe using some on Posh's "pony" if I do decide to have her go as "the secret costume I am planning."

Amy...I had thought of that too.

I asked on here because I was wondering, yes it's safe for humans, but for dogs too??

If so...that would be the easiest option!! I hope it is....and would love to know what your secret costume idea is!!
