Hey ya'll, I really really really need some prayers sent our way. I just found out tonight that my husband lost his job as of Saturday. He's been at this job for over a year (as a temp) and they were in the process of hiring him when a plant shut down in N. carolina and they had to make room for forced transfers so my hubby and 300 other employees don't have a job after Saturday. I am so scared, so sad and I just don't know what to do, and all we need are your prayers please! Thanks guys so much!!!

Moving in WEEK?? Wow.
I'm so glad to hear that your DH has a job lined up already. You'll be moving to AZ at a beautiful time of year. I grew up in AZ and spent 27 years there The fall and spring are beautiful times of year.....summer not so much! :)
I think there are forum members in AZ and we visit every year since we have several family members there.

Brooke, keep positive. My husband left Air Canada after 18 years because every 6 months they threatened to lay him off or move us. We were sick of the instability. In order to keep the family from having to move, my husband leaves for an 8 week tour in Africa on Saturday! He returns for 4 weeks and then leaves again. It is a big sacrifice for all of us, but it will keep a roof over our heads and food in our bellies! You never know what opportunities are around the corner. Take comfort and strenght from your friends and family. We will keep are fingers crossed for you!

Brooke, I just now saw this thread. God is Good and will absolutely take care of us when we give our problems to Him.

My youngest son has been out of work since Feb. He is single with no obligations except 2 dogs, so I don't worry quite as much. Yet I've been praying! Hard times here in Michigan. A local plant just shut down with the loss of 900 jobs in our small county. My bro-in-law was one of them, and his wife, my husband's sister, just lost her job too.

A move can be exciting and here's more prayers that it goes smoothly.

Hugs,
Suzy

My thoughts and prayers are with you and all the other folks in similar situations. My husband's job is also teetering on the brink. The one thing we have going for us is that I'm self employed and nobody can lay me off!

My 19 year old son moved out just over a year ago and struggles to make it on his own. He chose not to go to college and has had a construction job. He was laid off last week and doesn't know how he will pay his rent - it's happening everywhere. I'm so sorry.

Brooke, I'm glad to read that things might just work out after all. That's great news! I'm not sure about moving in a week though..... yikes !! Good luck with all that, hon. It's wonderful that you have a home and job to move to and that there is family there. :)

Shannon, I'm sorry to hear about your situation too. My own hubby has been talking about leaving his job of 23 yrs. to work for himself and it scares me half to death!! We still have 3 teens under our roof and loads of school fees, etc... dont' even get me started on medical stuff! :( Hang in there, Shannon.

Shannon I am sorry to hear about your husband. That must be horribly frightening. My hubby's brother is stationed in Africa right now. Maybe they can meet. :) LOL. Best wishes to your family! I'm always here if you need to talk.
Thank you all for your prayers. I am very excited now that I've been getting things prepared for the move. We sold our comp. desk and living room furniture today. :) Started boxing things. :) It's a fresh new start, around family, with stability. That's a welcomed sight for us. :) Thanks so so much for the prayers!!!

Carole, i feel it's very positive for us too. Of course being hit with "honey, I got laid off today" and then "honey, I got a job but it's in Arizona and we need to move asap" had me in a bit of a wreck mode today, but taking the time to breathe, regroup, and make LISTS... LOTS OF LISTS... has helped alot. I can also feel the prayers and I have a calm spirit. I am so happy to finally be around family, and friends, and have some help when needed. My hubby's been on nights for so long now, having to sleep all day, it's a bit like being a single mom sometimes. I am embracing this and going to make the most of any situation I am in. Knowing I have family and friends in this forum group is soooooo calming to me.
I hope that if some of you all live in Az close we can meet and let the doggie's play!

Brooke,

I just found this thread and I am so sorry your hubby lost his job. /But very happy to read that you are moving to AZ where he will have his old job back and you already have a house! That's great news. I guess the say is really true that when God closes the door, somewhere he opens a window.

Best wishes on your move,

The kids were excited to be moving to Az. they love it there. My oldest was bummed b/c he said he JUST Got A GIRLFRIEND HERE.. oh boy... LOL They are, I am sure, a bit upset, but my younger 2 are in K and 1st grade so they dont have real true ties yet, but my oldest is in 5th grade and will hate leaving his buddies. They are all 3 very excited though. They love being with g-parents!

Brooke I just went through a similar thing the beginning of this year and I know the fear and horror of unemployment all too well. Depending on what kind of work your husband does get his resume updated and start looking for "head hunters". Make use of monster.com and tell everyone you know he is looking for a job.
