Hey ya'll, I really really really need some prayers sent our way. I just found out tonight that my husband lost his job as of Saturday. He's been at this job for over a year (as a temp) and they were in the process of hiring him when a plant shut down in N. carolina and they had to make room for forced transfers so my hubby and 300 other employees don't have a job after Saturday. I am so scared, so sad and I just don't know what to do, and all we need are your prayers please! Thanks guys so much!!!

Brooke,
Good luck to you and your husband. We will all be thinking of you and let us know if there is anything we can do for you. Help with a resume for him or whatever we can do from a distance. Fortunately unemployment helps but never takes care of much. Are there other opportunities for him there or are you possibly going to have to relocate? Take it one day at a time and know that we are here.

Brooke you will be in my prayers tonight. It is very scary right now with jobs. It looks like my sis and her family maybe moving to North Carolina becasue of his job here. He works at Delphi and they are cutting people right and left. I am very very close with my sis and my nephews. We waited a long time for these babies and now they may have to move. Breaking my heart....Keep us posted!

Brooke,

I'm so sorry to hear of your husbands job loss. In 2007 my husband lost his job of 30+ years due to plant shut down. I completely understand what a scary time it is for both of you right now. Will they be offering him options as far as training or any kind of job placement services? Will they send in people to help with resumes?

I know when it happened to us, it took a bit for the shock to wear off, but you haven't got time, with only a few days. I will definitely be praying for you and for him. Don't be afraid to network with any friends and friends of friends that you can think of that may know of openings, many jobs it seems like these days are won by who you know.
My husband and I sent emails to everyone we could think of when he was looking for work, just trying to get the word out.

My husband got quite depressed when he was out of a job. Something I wasn't used to, or was he. Please let us know if there's anything else we can do as a group to help.

Brooke, I'm so sorry. I really hope he will find something new soon!

It is very scary how many people are out of a job right now. One woman I know at my son's school said that they are just about out of savings - her husband has been looking for a job for several months. Another friend of mine is going to be in the same position in 6 mos. if her hubby doesn't find something soon.

I've decided to try to start saving more. You just never know what is going to happen. and prayers for you!

Brooke... I am sorry you are going through such a trial! Please know that I've said a prayer for your situation... that God will provide for your family and give you the strength you need to help your husband and family weather this struggle.

My sister's husband just found out he is being laid off too, although he has been given a months warning and some severance pay. When I pray for her, I will remember you and yours too.

Well, our thoughts are that his old boss in Arizona wants him back working at the copper mine and so our thoughts and plans are we will move to arizona. His family is all there, they have a house stablized for us and ready when we come and there are alot of job that i could get until I graduate in May with my B.A. I am just scared all around, but after 3 hours of calling to his mom in AZ and such we are set up to move there, and his old boss said as soon as we get there they will hire him at the mine where he worked before we moved from Az to here 6 years ago. God's taking care of things, and I wanna thank you all Soooooooooooooo Soooooooooooo very much for your prayers and helping me to calm down. Knowing prayers are coming my way calms me and really allows me to let go and let God.
I will keep you all updated. Hubby is working till 6am. so we'll talk more about moving and when tomorrow but I think that it will be early next week. Thanks guys.. so so much!

OK on to a good note.. WHO LIVES IN ARIZONA???? HAHAHA PUPPY PLAY TIME!!!!

Brooke, I just read this thread and was so bummed for you! This ecomony is horrible and so many people are suffering from it. But.. when I read your last post I see that God was smiling down on you guys. That is so great that he has a place to go, and that you have family there - what a bonus!!
Moving next week already?? Wow,you are good!! I would bet that moving in less than a week is very stressful, not sure I could ever do it!! We will keep you in our prayers that the move goes well and hubby gets back to work !!
