I wash mine in the sink or dishwasher. Smarty gets her bath in my kitchen sink. My Mom would have a fit, but everyone else has small dogs in the family and do the same thing. I would be more concerned about eating out of restaurant dishes than after I washed my dog dishes.

If you are using hot water, dish soap and not using the same rag/sponge on your own clean dishes, then I don't see how it can be unhealthy. Heck, that would be the same rule with your own dirty dishes too!

I think washing off your raw meats in the sink would be a higher risk of contamination, but she probably doesn't mind that, does she? It's all in your cleanliness practice!

I get grossed out when I see people letting their dogs up on the table or counters - even for stacked photos, but hey, to each their own. Dirty dishes in the sink? Nope. That's where they belong.

Me too I wash them and there dog dishes in the sink as well. I make sure I use a different sponge as well. Then I clean the sink out as well but I do that when I do the dishes to.

I am sorry, but how silly that sounds!! If you are cleaning cutting boards with raw meat on it, what in the world could be wrong cleaning your dogs dishes in the sink???? Do we all not allow our dogs to kiss our faces?? Gosh that just sounds so crazy to me that someone would say that. Where ARE you supposed to wash their dishes??

See absolutely nothing wrong with washing the dog's bowl in the sink. I wash Riley in the kitchen sink, too. Fine with me if people are grossed out...lol. Let's eat out!!

Hmmm, I've been washing my dogs' bowls in the sink every night after dinner. I don't wash them in between their breakfast and dinner though.

Everyone seems to be fine and no worse for it.

That's actually funny to me. Actually, I just put their dishes in the dishwasher. I guess when you wash babies in the sink or dump their bath water in the sink that must be really bad! lmao
