Our Tinky is mostly all white now.
When we met Tinky, she was four months old, she was white with black markings. By the time she was nine months old, those black markings had turned to silver. You can see photos of her changes here
My first Havanese was born with a deep brown color. When we brought him home he was a rich sable. By the time he was a year old, he was nearly cream colored. Now he almost looks white because he has faded so much.
I don't have any statistics to prove anything, but it seems like a lot of Havs fade with time unless they are a solid black, black with white markings, black & white parti, or (going to leave this part out because too many people leap to conclusions and it doesn't impact many). Frankly, I like the color changes. It keeps you guessing.
In my opinion, the most important part of a pet Havanese is temperament. You really need to make sure the breeder will match the temperament of the puppy to his/her new home. Color/markings should be one of the least important issues.
