Interesting New Eating Behavior

Audrey was never a picky eater up until I changed her food to Fromm's Surf & Turf a few months back. She would just hungrily chow down on anything even if she had already had her meal. At 16 months old she started this quirky behavior of not eating her food and just doesn't seem interested. This has never happened before! She won't touch her food now unless I handfeed it to her and even if I handfeed it to her she could go for a day or two without eating food until she's basically starving.

So I'm not sure if it's the food or just a quirky change in behavior since she is growing up. Any thoughts? Any hav owners not like the Fromm's Surf & Turf?

hmm interesting. she started off on puppy organix, then i changed it to TOTW's venison, which she was fine with.

with fromm's surf & turf shesniffs her bowl but doesn't eat it. if i hand feed her one kibble she licks it with her tongue but spits it back out on the floor. so I'm wondering:

1) change in behavior because she's 16 months now
2) picky eater - she doesn't like fromm's surf & turf for whatever reason
3) i bought the fromm on petsupplies.com but could the food be bad?

She just went from being extra food motivated to not just caring... it's strange...

Check the expiration date. Most of the food I order online is at least a year from expiring. My guys ALL love Ziwipeak. If you can afford it, go for it! They also will send samples if you email them. They sent me a ton and my guys eat it like treats!! Just count calories because it has quite a bit of fat.

I had a consultation with Sabine. I also do it by trial and error. I weigh my guys a few times a week. I know where their weights should be so I adjust accordingly. My boys are ideal at 15 and 16 lbs. They get between 300-375 calories per day in food not including treats. Just depends on how much exercise they get. I don't think my dog walker walks them as hard as I do My Bella can eat as much as she wants because she is my skinny mini!

Only thing I'm concerned about is Ziwipeak does not have much fiber....I need to look into that...

linda the pm system isn't working again ,,, here's what Sabine said on it "Ziwi Peak is a good food as far as quality is concerned, but it is super high in fat and relatively low in fiber, so not all dogs do well on it. I see especially a lot of little dogs 1. overfed on it because feeding portions of super high calorie food are so small and 2. developing loose stools from high fat and not much fiber"

Leo's been on Ziwipeak since August and loves it and is doing really well. Portions are small but at least he eats twice a day like a normal dog which he never did with kibble!
