Smart dog

I took Tasha for a walk last night and forgot to check her water dish when we got back. I'm sitting in the living room before going back to work and she walks in carrying her water bowl from the kitchen and puts it down by me. At first I thought she was just playing with it and asked her if she didn't have enough toys. When I bring it back into the kitchen I realized she needed water. This is one smart breed of dog. If we get another one I'm afraid they'll team up and play practical jokes on me.

Ahhh, how cute! Stella's water dish is ceramic and quite heavy. When it's empty, she picks it up and clunks it down to get my attention. If I don't respond, she clunks it increasingly harder until I do.
I agree, these are very smart dogs!

Cicero's bowl is also heavy. He is not a barker, but when his water bowl is empty he will run and look at me and fly to the kitchen and bark one really loud bark - then do it all over again till I get up and head to the kitchen. We are amazed that he knows how to say WATER...

They can't pick up their water bowl, because it is ceramic. Their food bowls are plastic and if Shelby wants to eat, she uses it as a toss toy. She comes running out of the kitchen throwing her bowl in the air.

Cocotini will dig frantically at the bowl or around the bowl if she is out of water until I come and refill it.She also has a small portable bowl that I keep in the bathroom. If she wants water in that one she picks it up and drops it at mt feet. I agree- they are very smart dogs.

You're right, they do team up and do the cutest things. Well, sometimes it takes a couple of days to see the humor in it though.

We really have to get her a friend to play with. I think she'd be thrilled to have another dog in the house and we'd get some time off.
