Talking Anyone have 3 dogs?

We currantly have 2 Havs. Tripp is 10 months old & Dreamer is 6 years old. We got them 3 months ago from a great breeder in S.C. Everything is going great but the only problem we have is that Tripp wants to play/wrestle all the time with Dreamer & (most of the time)she really wants nothing to do with him.
They get along great(shes his grandma) but she just doesnt like to play all that much. She will run around outside mostly just for a few minutes but thats about all. He gets mad when Dreamer wont play (my husband & I just arent good enough ). She is very sweet-but mosly a lap dog.
So we wanted to get a another Hav(possibly a rescue) that has the same playful temperment that Tripp has, who will be a good playmate for him.
How much more difficult is it to care for a 3rd dog? I do all the bathing, brushing etc..Is the household & travel much more chaotic?? Any feedback would be great! Thanks!

I met Tripp at the National last fall when Bobbi had him there. He's a fun little guy. I know Dreamer too.

I'm not the one to talk to when asking how many is too many any more than Bobbi is.

I have three dogs: two standard poodles and Bugsy, my Havanese. I don't think it's any more difficult with three than with two.

I have three Havs - Lily is 3 1/2, Lexi 2 1/2 and Logan 6 months old. The older they get, the less they want to play with the younguns - When we first brought Logan home, Lily didnt play much, but NOW she has realized that its fun Your older one may loosen up at some point. The only household difficulty is when it is bad weather & we have to take them out on leashes. Travel is a bit of a pain, unless you travel with crates. I have a little problem when I go to the groomer & all 3 want to get out fat the same time!! Otherwise, I find its like kids, after you have two, three is not much more. I love having three, when one is tired, the others take over with play. Good Luck!

I was curious about three as well so thank for the input .. I am fine with two for the time being though .. I think it takes time for the new additions to get adjusted to their new home and family especially if they are older than puppies .
I am sure it is a significant transition for a six year old dog to enter a new home .. I meet a woman who adopted a 8 year old and you would have never known it was not her dog from day 1 .. That little dog adored her ..

Actually, Dreamer is VERY attached to me.We all bonded very quickly, which surprised me. But even the breeder said she was a very calm & serious dog. They just have 2 different energy levels.
Tom, thanks for the reply also. Arent they both the sweetest dogs. Thats cool that you knew them before i did!

It is amazing to see the love for these animals and how they have become the Lays potato chip dogs . Can't have just one ..
I know each dog has a different temperment . Tulip is very much the princess and she does not like to play that much with the twins as Donna calls them . She just likes to walk by and shake her head to show them her new doo !!
Too cute !!

When you have three is there any problem of one being left out of the play? I'd worry about two being best buddies and one being on the sidelines for play.....or is that more of a human characteristic?

I was wondering that also Susan. Of course, Dreamer really prefers to be with me but she does like to 'let loose' on occasion & i would hope she would not be ignored. She is not aggressive when it comes to getting attention. Tripp will maul her over just so he can get attention-he is not shy at all!
