You Havanese people.....

What is it with the Havanese people...they are all so nice! I went to a dog show yesterday (my third local dog show)...just as a spectator. I always find out when the Havanese will be shown so I can see them. Every time I've gone, the Havanese folks are so nice to me...they chat with me, share information, etc. It's so awesome. Only makes me want a Havanese more! Big difference in the yorkie show people that I've seen. Out of three shows, I've met very few yorkie exhibitors (would you call them that?)... that would give me the time of day. It makes me sad, because I have yorkies, and would love to chat with them. It's weird. There were sure some cute havanese at this show...good golly. One lady invited me to come visit at her house, even though I'm not able to get a Hav just yet. She's been in Havanese for a long time..I think 14 years...but it might have been more.

Anyhow...Kudos to you Hav people... and kisses to your dogs...

Maybe sweet friendly little dogs are led to find sweet friendly people. Honestly, I think these little Havs are so sweet and funny...they just make us better people. Cicero sure changed my DH into mush. He's a crazy dog man for the first time in his life.

Oh my gosh...Cicero is exactly what I want someday! I love his coloring, his coat and what a face! I can't wait....but it will be some years. Right now I'm in line to get another yorkie baby girl, and we are also building a house. I will have plenty of room for all my furbabies once the house is done. The mud room is designed to house my babies, and for bathing them, etc. I told my hubby it's not really a mud room. I made him put a screened porch off the mud room so that everyone can take their shoes off out there! Then, eventually, I will have a doggie bedroom in one of the extra bedrooms I will have someday. (still have three girls living at home)....

I wish I could give Cicero a squeeze...he is too sweet!

Deb

I totally agree with LuvCicero. These little sweethearts make us humans happier, better people. How can you not be more joyful with such a BUNDLE OF FUNNY in your life? I think Hav owners realize the "secret" joy of Havs and want to share it with others. I hope you will get your little pup sooner rather than later so you can begin to experience the blessing of a Havanese.

Deb, where was the show you attended? (I don't see that you have your location in your profile, but I may be missing it.)

Yes, I agree with you. The Havanese folks are some of the best at the shows! I recently attended a seminar that was geared towards just Havanese breeders and even the speaker said that most breeders tend to be a lot like their dogs, and she could tell that Havanese must be great dogs by the people who were in the seminar. Granted, she could have just been buttering us up, but I don't think so. Ha ha!

I was at the Toy Dog show in Enumclaw WA.

I would think it was just a fluke, except it's happened to me three times...and seriously....EVERY Hav person has been great. The major thing that draws me to this breed is that the dogs are so "Happy".... I love that! We are a pretty upbeat family and our dogs are definitely a part of our family.

Went to your site...love it! I think your dogs are so cute, and I read your rule of seven page. Very intriguing ... Sounds like your puppies come very well rounded!

Deb, My guess is you will have a Hav sooner than you expect. You obviously have the bug MHS (multiple hav syndrome) I agree that, I adore everyone I have met on this forum and in person who has a HAV. Welcome to the forum.

I wish! My poor dear husband...As the kids grow up and leave (which I still have three, but ....) I'm filling the house with furkids! He's so sympathetic though...I'm very blessed....

Deb, I've been a dog person all my life...my DH has not. He has always let me have my dogs because he loves me..and he knows that is the way I am. BUT...I've heard "your dog" all my life. Then we got Cicero after losing my 17 year old Pom -- and the man fell head over hills in love with him. Cicero is his little 'sweetie pie' and I'm in second place now. I think you might read on this forum how other men have been changed into dog people with a Hav. They are people dogs and you can't help but love them! So, rethink getting another yorkie...and head straight for a Neezer.
