Cascade Havanese Club Hav Fest 10/11 Argus Ranch Auburn, WA

Who is planning on coming? We had lots of fun last year and I am excited to take Marley down there again! It's a long drive for us but well worth it!! They also have a nice fenced area that the dogs get to play with at the end. Marley was a big chicken last year, I hope he'll want to run a bit more this time.....

We are in Victoria BC and would love to attend a hav party, anywhere, even if we have to cross an international border! Not sure we can make it to this party, as our Stella La Bella is about to have her spaying done, but I'll keep an eye out for the next event.

We are planning on coming. Just waiting to see what the weather
is going to be like. Is it held all outside?
Rick was out of town last year so we really want to meet everyone.

Most of the event is inside, just the last part (the free play) is in the fenced outside area. The weather that AOL has projected is looking promising....sunny, but somewhat chilly. I'm looking forward to it!!

Alexa,
Thanks for the information.
We could get together sometime. We don't live that far from you.
See you Saturday.

Do you have to have a hav to come?

I want to have a Havanese dog someday....but have to wait a bit. Can people come just to meet havanese owners and their dogs? I live pretty close to Auburn....in Buckley.

That's exactly what I did the first time around...I wanted to see a bunch of different dogs to really get a good feel for the breed and this is the perfect place for that. Plus you get to know a lot of folks that are good breeders etc. and can give you feedback on others etc. Of course it wasn't long after that we got Marley...once you meet them, you want one NOW <g>

I've met a really nice breeder, and I like her dogs...she's in Enumclaw. And then I met two more at the show this weekend, that I liked. All had really nice dogs and were super people. The lady from Flaming Geyser havanese has invited me to come meet her dogs, even though I'm not quite ready to buy. She is very informative too. Where did you guys get your babies?

btw...my husband works on quite a few horses up in Snohomish...you don't have horses, do you? That would be a small world!!!

I got Marley from Flaming Geyser and would be happy to tell you all about the experience, good and bad (well not really bad, but things that I would have liked to have, e.g. ongoing contact and support which we don't really have). Lorraine definitely cares about the breed and her dogs and it was a good fit for us. There are several other local breeders, too, that I have gotten to know and can highly recommend, so I can give you some ideas when you're ready

How long ago did you get Alexa? Are there photos of her parents on the site? I'm surprised that you don't have ongoing support...she struck me as someone that would provide that, but I haven't bought a dog with her. Only chatted from her at a couple of dog shows. I would love to know who else you know of.

I searched for two years before buying Phoebe (my yorkie)...so I like doing research waaaay ahead of time!
