Sweater or jacket without matting?

I am really needing a sweater or jacket for Linus to wear, but when he wore a t-shirt he really matted badly. Is there such a thing as a silky/satin-lined one (perhaps something else would work better) that would reduce matting?

Please give me suggestions to keep this tiny guy warm.
Thanks,
Karen

Here is a picture of him; his coat is getting long which means the matts are coming more frequently. I did a quick search but perhaps I missed this thread in the past. Thanks for any suggestion you might have.

Don't know about a sweater, but here's a tool that takes care of the matts easily. I know it's not good for show coats as it actually cuts through matts....but it's really works great!

He is such a cutie!!!! I'd be hugging him so much, he'd never be cold...

sweaters aren't good for havanese coats

I got Daisy a cute Christmas Sweater...what a mess of matts under her arms!

While they blow coat, it would be worse as he probably is getting near that stage.

There are combs for the matts and you can work them out rather easily if you use your fingers for the beginning with a little powder as long as he has a silky coat, which it looks like he does. He better get used to grooming cuz he will need lots of it! He is adorable.

They also have heated bed pads which might keep him warmer and not cause matts!

I didn't just get havanese, I got a lifestyle!

Yeah, you can find some coats with satin lining those are my favorite for stopping matts. I use one of those on Dora. NEVER A SWEATER! I learned that from Belle. She has a few cute sweaters and memorable christmas sweater that has never been worn again <BG> I had it on her all christmas in michigan and it was a horrible outcome! I also have a coat for Belle that I like that is that fake wool lining on the inside. While it seems like it would matt, it is that puffy type stuff that doesnt seem too. It also helps that it is pink with a rhinestone B on it

Do you have a link or brand name for the silk-lined coat? It's getting cold fast here.
I ordered a fleece coat from fetchdog (should be arriving tomorrow) which I suspect will matt. I thought I didn't have much a choice and was hoping it wouldn't be too bad if work about an hour for a walk.

Well one of the coats was from target. The other one petco so they weren't the fancy expensive ones. Belle's nicest coat is probably her worst for matting go figure! Even the cheap polyester lined one from target seems to fair well on her hair. I will see if I can't lay a few out and take a picture of the lined ones. I think maybe just check the local stores and websites to find out if there is lining and stay away from sweaters is what I think might be the best approach.

Thank you for the advice. No sweaters it is! I will keep my eye out for silky linings. If anyone comes across one or knows a brand, please let me (and others) know.

Thanks again.

This is so strange. I had Milo in sweaters and coats a lot last winter and had no issue whatsoever with matting . . . and he's the matt king. Here are a few pictures in his rain and snowsuits. I guess I have the sweater photos on a different computer.
