One hav vs. two havs

I don't know if this is the correct place to put this but oh well. Got a question for everyone. Thinking of getting another hav. Actually my husband loves the one we have and he said get another one. However, what I would like to know is---Is having two havs harder than having one? I don't know if that is the correct way to put it but I am just curious as to what it is like having two havs in the house. My one is really no trouble at all. I would like some advice from those of you who own two or more havs. I am curious about the grooming bit as well. Thanks for all of your input.

Hi Tammy! I am so happy to hear that you are considering another Hav. I have three and am fostering a fourth right now. They are the best!!! When I got my second it was the usual pain the neck with the potty training but it was the best thing I ever did!!! My two got along so nicely and I never felt bad about going to work or out for dinner, as I knew they always had company. Then I got my third and it was the third best thing I ever did!! I think that if you are willing to go thru the potty training issues (unless you adopt an older dog) then you will be very pleased!!!

We got our second about six months ago. We love having two.

The big difference for me has been grooming. I do everything myself and they are both in full coats. It is a struggle for me to get them both brushed often enough, and baths are drifting farther apart! The other difference we have noticed is that our interactions with Dusty have changed since we got Indie. There is always that little black nose butting in on the attention Dusty receives from us! Still, we would do it all over again. We love them both, they have a ton of fun playing together, and we can't imagine not having both of them!

This is the other thing that I worry about because my ZOE is a LAP dog and loves attention......MAJOR attention. If you don't talk to her she lets you know that she does not like it. However, the great thing is that I have two boys and they both love animals...not only dogs but all animals. I feel that both dogs would get a lot of attention. Thanks!

I am curious to hear the responses because like you I am thinking about getting another Hav. I wouldn't do it right away, but in 6 months or so.

Giotto is 10 months now and we adore him but he is very much a shadow dog. He goes everywhere with us (and we love it!) but it also means he hates to be left alone. I thought another dog might be good company for him, especially when I go back to school next summer and he will be at home alone for longer periods. Also, we love him so much and he's so much fun, I think another would be even better.

I got Monte because I thought Riley would be happier having someone to play with on days he was home alone while I was at work. Oh my gosh I dont think I will ever just have one ever again, having two is pure entertainment. I also think the second one learns the rules faster as they learn from the first. As far as attention goes its funny because each of mine require attention at different times, they seem to have figured their own schedule out with who gets mom when. The grooming is definetly more, not only do you have 2 dogs to groom but they can do a number on each others coats while playing.

Here are my two having a blast, we get to watch this everyday, something I never grow bored of watching.

This is why two havs are so great.

I love having two havs...it is alot of fun. I also have two other dogs as well. I have a 13 year old lab and a 10 yr old cocker spaniel. It is alot to adjust to at first but never a dull moment thats for sure!!
