I again need advice

The snow has fallen in Winnipeg . The good news is that Mojo LOVES to play in it. What I need to know is if you amazing people have any suggestions on how to quickly remove those lovely snowballs that attach to the dogs fur?
And with snow, comes thoughts of Christmas, which brings me to my second question. How do you train/keep the dog way from the tree and decorations?
Thanks in advance for your help. You are making this 1st time dog owner VERY happy!
Shannon and Mojo
PS...my DH comes back from Africa in 9 days!

Hey I'm leaving for Africa in 215 days or so for a safari in Tanzania and Kenya...is he coming back from work or just travel?

To get the snowballs I found the quickest way was to get one of those plastic containers that you can put clothes in and tuck underneath your bed. Only about maybe 2 or 3 inches high. I put look warm water in it, maybe 1/2 an inch. Then simply put the boys in it and with my hands just pour water over the snowballs. They come out in seconds and I then just towel off their paws.

It was the only thing I found that worked real quick for me in the mornings before leaving for work after taking them for their morning walk.

Chances are if your parents never had kids...you won't either...

I just put my guys in the sink and run warm water on the snowballs. It gets pretty messy, but melts them instantly!

I put Gryff in the bathtub and use the shower extention spray thingy to get them off. I really only need to do it if Gryff has been outside really playing. I shovel out an area of grass for him to take care of business so I don't have to worry about the snow balls everytime he goes potty. When we go out to play, he is usually in a snowsuit and muttlukks. I try to cover him up as much as possible.

Last year was Gryff's first Xmas. We hung all the ornaments high up and he didn't bother with any of them. I hope for luck again this year.

Ivy,
Oh, you are perfect to ask this question of. Does the snowsuit totally cover up Gryff's privates? Does he try to go potty in it, or how did you teach him not to? And Jane, I think, said that the Muttluks didn't stay on her boys. You haven't had any problem with that? Which ones do you have? Any pictures?

He works there. He is on an 8 week rotation in the Congo. I guess I do have to get him wet to dry him off! Why didn't I think of that?

snowsuits have an opening for the bum and private area. There's a snowsuit thread if you look for it.
