Week 1

Well Taylor went to training yesterday. I enrolled her in the beginners class at petsmart because she's not really a puppy anymore and she has the whole..housebreaking thing down.. But apparently the 4 of the other members in the class didn't read the description.. We had a lab puppy, a pit puppy, a mix terrier puppy and a weimeraner puppy..lol. They were what they were; puppies.. bounding about..bundles of energy and unruliness.. all adorable and precious and full of vomit and pee..rofl. Taylor was an angel. She sat behind my leg the entire time..never barked..never peed or pooed or vomited or any other missteps prone to puppies.. I was so proud of her. I finally found some treats she responds to..she doesn't like any of the ones Capote likes. Once I had her hooked on the treats the 'watch me' command was a snap. She's smarter than I thought. :)

Mindy, Why were the other pupped vomiting and craping all over the place? i'm kinda confused?? lol

Ryan
...lol.. well the weimeraner had too many treats...so..up they came..

then the terrier mix had a teeny tiny bladder...so that left a couple puddles. ...and then one more poop accident down the isle as well.. he must be a challenge at home..lol

We did Petsmart classes too, it was a beginner class and it was all puppies. That was the class the trainer there recommended. When we saw how some of the other puppies behaved we realized how well behaved and what a great temperament Scooter had!

We learned a lot at the class and it was fun.

The best thing about it right now is that I can get her away from Capote to train her..and she's focused on me. That's what I was going for and it seems to be working.. otherwise that ham is all over us..

I may sign him up for a refresher course when I get done with hers as well.

Week 3

Ok so forgot week 2..sorry. But I can blend week 2 in with week 3.

The more I take Taylor to class, the more I realize that taylor isn't my problem child..lol. Capote is. He's the one in need of the training. But when I first put taylor in it was more for socializing her and just getting her on her own with just me.

Today was 'leave it' 'drop it' 'take it' 'say hello' and 'lay down' ...leave it and drop it she doesn't seem to get.. I think my taylor's a lil slow on the uptake...lol. But she's not one to go darting after fallen items. That would be Capote. ..with some effort she sorta got Lay down. We'll have to keep working on that one. ...and we worked on Loose leash walking..which taylor is so shy she usually walks one step behind you anyways so that's not a problem. Capote is the one who drags you around the block.

The more I go to class the more decided I am on enrolling Capote in a class when I'm done with Taylors. He needs the help more than she does.
