Car Seat

Hi Everyone - I'm fairly new to posting - but have learned so much through all the different discussions here. I am interested in getting everyones opinions on booster seats versus crates for car travel. How do you feel about the safety of dog booster seats. Does anyone have one they would recommend?

Penny, I just brought up this subject of car booster seats a couple of weeks ago. Here's the link (hope it works.) If the link doesn't work, go up to the "Search" button towards the top of the Home page, (I think there are 2 buttons, one works for me, the other doesn't,) and enter in car booster seats.

It is interesting that most folks here have the same one. I think, though, that once I've saved up the money I'm getting a different one than the majority have. It is pictured/linked on the first post, I think.

Thanks. The links worked just fine and I was able to check out the thread. The one your link goes to "FidoRido" looks very stable compared to others that I've looked at. I like the idea of molded core, like child safety seats. I would think that this would hold up really well in the event of an accident.

Penny,
That is what I thought, too, plus it seems less tipsy on the seat, while giving them a bit more room because of it's molded plastic. If you end up getting one, let me know how it works, would you? (I can't purchase anything for awhile.) It is no more expensive than the Lookout ones, and is actually cheaper, I think.

Sheri,
From the link you posted a while back, I got interested in the FidoRido seat. I have the Lookout II, but now I have a car seat for each car. I got the Fido yesterday, and am really pleased with it. The harness wasn't exactly the right size, but I called today about it. They are going to send me a bigger one, and I can just send back whichever one I don't want to keep. How considerate is that??? They are nice people to buy from. Anyway, thanks for your post. I like both seats, but the Fido one does let my Linus stick his head a bit closer to me from the center back seat, is quite stable,----and is a bit bigger without taking up any more seat room.

Thanks, Suzy! I'm so glad to know this, from someone I actually "know" and can trust on this Forum! I'd love to see a picture, too!

Welcome to the forum, Penny! It's nice to have another Dallasite! Your puppy is adorable. I've been wanting a black and white hav.

I just got back from my first road trip with Max. I bought him a car seat and he loves it! I was so surprised that he took to is so well since I had carried him in my lap for an entire year.

We will have to have a play date! Max loves puppies.
