Playing with others

I am Mojo's "special person" and I love it BUT.....I am a working, mostly single mom who is very busy. Sometimes Mojo wants to play and I am busy doing a hundred things. I have 2 kids who would LOVE to play with him, but he wont leave my side to go play. He will engage with the kids if I am involved. How can I get him to play with other household I don't feel guilty when he is looking at me with those big brown eyes?

thanks from a tired mom!

One word, "treats". Have your kids have some treats in their hands and then have them engage Mojo in some play. Maybe put the treats in a tricky treat ball and have them roll it around the floor. Play has to be consistent though. If they only play with him or engage him only when you are busy, he will always look to you first.

Chances are if your parents never had won't either...

I don't know if you've had any obedience classes but setting boundaries, like a doorway he can't cross, and training the out command could help. Also, the treat thing with the kids. Sophie loves to play tug and fetch with her favorite toys and we all have to take turns doing it! I even had some of the neighborhood kids teaching her commands new tricks using treats. They got her to jump through a hula hoop!

Unconditional love!

Give the kids treats and have them play" Come" We still play it with Oliver and Comet. One person at each end of the house takes turns calling the dogs. When the dogs come to that person they get a treat.

Sally,((Oliver)) Comet and Pennie too!
The best things in life are not things!

Yeah, each kid gets a couple of treats, then they hide and call inquisitively "where's MoJo"?
He'll go find each child and get a treat.
Have the kids hide everywhere - behind the shower-curtain etc etc
They'll all have fun.
