what's too cold to walk?

i know our havs are warm weather pups from cuba but my dog loves cold weather! i always put him in his parka when we walk but i never know what's too cold. if i think it's too cold to walk, we got for a drive and he goes crazy in the car wanting to get out. i've always used 32 degrees as my bench mark and never more than 10 minutes. any opinions?

I would think if he has a nice warm coat on that covers his stomach and boots , then I think he would be ok.. 10-20 min walks in the winter are good

Now romping in the yard is a differnet matter as they are snow magnets..you wouldn't want him to turn into a pup sickle!

My guys go out no matter how cold it is. Even if it's -15C (5 F) they go out. But at that temp it's just to do their business and I definitely have little parkas for them that covers their legs and body and a little hoodie for their head. I usually take myself as the measure. Once I'm cold, I know their cold.

Right now it's -5C (23F) and we went for a walk and to the park where I let them off leash for 10min. All and all maybe we were out 30-45min. THey had on a coat that wraps around their chest and body. They were perfectly fine. My biggest concern is their paws.

Chances are if your parents never had kids...you won't either...

Kubrick just went on a 1 hour walk with hubby and it's currently 29F, feels like 20F. It's COLD and I didn't want to go, but hubby doesn't mind so we put Kubrick in his Obtrack coat and he was good to go. He just LOVES going on a walk on cold days. He prefers it to warm days, actually!

Too cold for me or the pups? Mine will walk all the time - it's me they have to convince to take them. I think 65 is cold enough.

Beamer and I just got in from a walk and its -5 out. We went out for a nice 20 min walk and when we got back to our front yard he did not even want to go back in the house. I let him run in circles for a few mins before going in.. lol

We walked a mile today and it was 25F. Tasha would have gone two more miles if I were up for it. Cold doesn't seem to bother her much.

I agree with everybody else - I've not found a too cold. We walk twice a day, every day, no matter what the weather. We're out anywhere from 30-90 mintues. Tess doesn't mind the cold, she just hates the ice balls on her feet - which is why she wears boots. I'm the one that gets cold, not them.

Speaking of which.....what do you all wear on your hands? I wear liners and gloves and my hands freeze. I don't like wearing mittens because then I can't control two leashes, poopy bags, two dogs, and not become a tangled mess.

Jill, what boots do you use so regularly? They must work well if you use them twice a day, consistently.
