Too many toys??

Can there be too many toys for the pups?? I used to keep most of them up and out of sight until I was ready to play with Shadow but today I placed them all in a basket on the floor in another room . She eventually pulled out most of them in a short time.. Is this good or bad as far as keeping their interest with the various ones. Do they get bored if all the toys are out at once and eventually loose interest thus making us feel like we should buy new ones. any thoughts???

I leave all of mine out in a basket. I washed them all the other day and counted 42 for my 2 dogs!! lol

Every few days all go around the house and pick up all the toys and put them back in the basket, but they eventually get them all out again. They definitely have favorites that they always get out first, but I think they have fun choosing the toys and going through the basket! Sometimes they'll bring them all out one after another....bring one to me, I'll throw it, then they go get another....on and on!

They are goofy!

Todd's toys tend to overrun the house if I don't keep some of them picked up.
I think that like a child, he becomes overwhelmed when there are too many laying around and that's when he gets bored and starts getting intop trouble so I try to keep at least half in a tub and rotate them every week or two.
He acts like they are brand new again and plays with them for hours.

I have a few containers of toys and I just rotate them, when we bring out a new container, they act like it is Christmas. Even Belle who is not very interested in toys, digs thru them and goes nuts. Dora is usually the crazy one and we have so much fun watching her grab old favorites. I also have a drawer of toys that are for mommy and me time. Most of them are interactive and need supervision or need me to play with them. Those are their favorites. They know the closet!!!

Amanda - What toys do you have that are interactive or where you play with them? Any that you/they love; that you would recommend?

Anne- Dora has a ton of these toys. She loves ones that make noise and move. We have the dancing Elmo guy although he has taken a beating and kind of looks like homeless Elmo! She also loves the GSD dog. Pink dog is on his way out. They are just little novelty dancing moving animals. They aren't dog toys. We also added the remote control mouse recently which has been a big hit but Dora is too aggressive with that one. She just gets crazy for these toys and we get them out a few times a week just 5-10 mins at a time so they last and keep being fun. At the same time, my maltese Belle does not play with these toys at all and doesn't like them. Dash likes them and is a lot more brave when Dora is there to play too! As you see, you have to supervise them with these ones as they could hurt them.

Amanada - how cool. I never thought of remote toys. I know what will be on my list for Santa this year. Those videos are great. Belle gets her entertainment watching Dora and Dash. Dora is so good with the "drop it". I am not sure I'd ever get it out of Lola's mouth!

Scooter killed one of those puppies that bark and then flip over, it was so funny to watch him. Now he likes toys that squeak a lot. I have a bench in the laundry room that has cubbies underneath and there is a basket there with new toys in it, or toys I've put away for a while to cycle them in and out. He knows where it is now and will go nose around in there and come out with something new every once in a while.

I bought the Hide-A-Squirrel for him for Christmas and it's killing us not to give it to him! Am I crazy or does everyone buy Christmas presents for their Hav???
(He has a Christmas bear that I'm not giving him until Thanksgiving Day because he chewed up his Halloween Frankenstein before Halloween even got here!)

Rommy says You Can Never have Enough Toys. We have toys laying all over the house-but his fav thing to do is take them outside through the dog door, I have to admit it's a lot of fun watching him get them outside.

I have a large, closed container with MacGyver's toys and a small basket that I put a few in and rotate. His current favorite is the Snuggler Ram from the Havanese Rescue.
