Baby Toys and Dog Toys

My husband and I are expecting in May. We know Ozzy is going to be amazing with the baby and already know how we will handle any jealousy. The problem that wer are going to have is with toys.

Any time a toy (stuffed) has come into the house it has always been Ozzy's. Last week I bought the first baby toy and was showing my husband and Ozzy got all excited thinking it was his. He has also "stolen" toys from my nieces when they have been over and stuffed animals out of bags that were gifts. We have scolded him those few times but my big question is how do you let them know which toys are theirs and which aren't. Especially since some of his are stuffed animals just with a squeaky inside?

Uh-oh, I know what you mean. Any time my DD gets a new toy for the baby-to-be, her dog thinks it's his. When they set up the swing, the dog jumped in it. Thank goodness he's only a Dachsie.

We have always had this problem. Any toy that comes into the house is a dog toy, they think. I have a small daycare for babies under three so lots of stuffies. The toys get shared but don't last long because of the frequent washing. I trust the baby toys because they have to pass stringet testing here in Canada whereas sometimes the dog toys are rather flimsy.
