From Dog Park to Dog Wash...

I don't like to take these two to the dog park because they get fleas and Riki ends up smelling like pee. Today I wanted to try out the dog wash because they have a super fast dryer and mine is too slow on colder days like today. So here we have a few pics of my two enjoying the grass...running in the smelly dog park, and then their trip to the Dog Wash...conveniently located next to the park!

ah, as the sun goes down it is time to go to the wash...

So trotting just a block or so down the street, the magical place with the big tank and fancy blow dryer...and nice towels, and a mess I don't have to deal with afterward...

Daisy runs...did I hear you say dog wash?
Riki after his bath, getting dry with the towel...
Daisy in the bath, not loving it...
And finally blown dry and soft.

Call me stupid - but I NEVER knew places like that existed!!!! Oh what a fabulous idea to have dog wash!!! I bet that they had so much fun at the park, that in the end, the bath is worth it. What do they charge for a dog wash?? Hmmm, I am thinking about a business here!!

So, this one is a self-wash? Nice.

We have two types of dog washes here. One is similar to yours, where you get to use their tub & dryer, but we also have one that they equate to a doggy spa. It is a fully enclosed box with glass windows that you put your dog in and then turn on and it washes & rinses the dog. It freaks me out and I can't imagine a dog not getting freaked, but they seem to do a huge amount of business with it, so it must work out just fine. (It is just not for me.)

I love Riki looking back at the camera, "You are not going to save me, are you?"

Linda, I used to take my golden retriever to the dog wash. It really saved my back because I didn't have to bend down and I loved not having to clean up the wet towels, etc. We have one in town here too.

Cute pics. Daisy reminds me a lot of Salsa.

Fun pictures Linda! Do you let Riki & Daisy into the dog park with any size dog?

We have a new dog park just down the street and I went by yesterday but didn't have the courage to go in. There were about 6-8 large dogs (some of them REALLY large). It was just recently fenced - but they left once side unfenced (????) and they created a small dog area - but left a section into the big dog area open (sort of defeats the purpose, doesn't it???).

No way was Tess going in - she made that clear. Cody would have loved to go in but I had pictures of him being used as the ball in a quick game of "dog soccer". A woman with a huge mastiff offered to take her dog into the small dog area so Cody could play, but.....

So we went to the nature center where all I had to deal with was the herd of deer.

There's several do-it-yourself doggy wash places around here. Haven't ever thought of taking Tori since bathing her here at home is so convenient. I do like the idea of those blow dryers, though. Hmmm, just may have to go try one out and see if we like it.

I would love to know from you Easterners - have you or do you have dog wash's in your area. I am just surprised that such a place exists and wish we had one here!!
