poor little freak!

So as you may know, we got a lot of snow today!!! light fluffy, then heavy wet, now light and fluffy again..about 8 inches. and it is still snowing. Alpha (DH) has shoveled some places in the back for them to go to pee but hasn't touched the drive way yet as it makes no sense til it stops. So tonight, Last Call, Cash goes out back and quickly goes to the nice bush DH dug out...good boy.

Jasper went out and ran around in circle whimpering lifting up his back leg to try and get the snow off (he really prefers not to use his yard as a bathroom in the first place) ... so after a few minutes of this DH CARRIED him through the driveway to the somewhat plowed street and I see his yellow coat walking up and down the street for about 30 minutes... finally I am told...he took him further down the street and dug out a whole around a tree where Jas sometimes goes...but then a car came and freaked him out. so he still didn't go... about 10 minutes later he did the deed. I really thought we got over this last year. He had gotten so good and fast about doing his biz...and it's not his first snow...but it is pretty deep right now.

Poor Jasper...he is so tortured.

Any of yours have trouble in the snow?

We just had a little snowstorm here ourselves. About half of what you go though. My guys were jumping and hoping like little jack rabbits through the snow. Took them out for 30min in the afternoon. They were just having so much fun they didn't even care to go. I just took them home and figured they'd go later on when I take them out again. Sure enough 9pm took them out, they hopped around, jumped all through the snow...took a pit stop and did their deed and went right back to jumping around like crazy. With the little rubber booties and coat lol they don't feel a thing from the cold.

Chances are if your parents never had kids...you won't either...

If there is snow on the driveway, he will just go there. It took him a while to go poop last night. He paced around forever. I shovel out an area in the yard so he doesn't have to get burried in the snow just to pee. It's not easy for these little guys.

Missy Monte just looooves to play in the snow but go potty in it?? Oh my gosh we have to circle around in circles then pace, more circles, more paceing before we can find the right spot... He drives me crazy. Poor DH walking up and down the street for Jasper, it's like -7 out there!!! Such a good dad.

Here's my DH out this morning working on snow removal, too cold to go out with the boys yet, hopefully a little later.

Missy,
I have about the same amount of snow 7-8 inches, with more coming tonight and it is really cold here. I am going to try to post some pictures if and when I ever get some time. I am hitting the stores at 8am to finish up last minute shopping.

Missy, only some times poops outside, she prefers to go in the back bedroom. Casper has been using the porches, less snow to deal with.

He has not gone peep in the house since he got neutered. I got mixed respondes when I asked it neutering would help stop the marking in the house...some said it would, and some said he would have to be retrained.

Poor Jasper!

It's so difficult to make these dogs do anything that they aren't inclined to. It looks as though you were hammered with snow! We don't receive a ton of snowfall in Philly, but I will say that Carlito HATES really cold rain. Fortunately, my boys use the litter box, but when we are visiting people and there is a cold rainstorm, I have to carry a pee pad to just outside their door so that Carlito will go potty without getting his feet wet!

Wow, that is a SERIOUS snowblower! I was picturing something like a back-pack type thing! You've really got a lot of snow. I'm jealous, really...but at least we've got several inches here.

Maybe you should wait until he's asleep, put a pee pad under him and stick his paw in warm water!! ...they say it works on people..
