I alternate between flavors and two brands every month/feeding. For example I mix her EVO with Tast of the Wild wetlands one feeding and then EVO and TOTW something else. I am considering adding a different EVO like the red meat in addition to the regular small bites. So I am not sure which choice to pick on the poll.

I am trying to rotate between foods, but both my dogs don't react well to it. Lincoln doesn't like the change in flavors. Scout gets the runs in reaction to ANY change. I've abandoned trying to rotate for now. Maybe I'll try again in a few months.

I'd like to have several to rotate. Right now I'm using Fromm Salmon a la Veg and Artemis Small Breed Adult. I think I'm going to try Wellness Core next.

Cuba's eaten 5 different foods and he is 8 months old. (I didn't realize it was so many!) His breeder had him on Pro Plan. When I got him, I read to stay away from the major brands so I switched him to Nutro (also based on the advise at of a woman at the pet store). Then after discovering this forum and the dog food analysis website, I decided that was not good enough. We tried solid gold puppy for awhile, which he was okay with, but did not eat it as aggressively as Evo chicken which I tried next. He still likes Evo chicken and I just got the red meat variety. He does well on the high protein ones and I plan to alternate the two.

We always recommend to our customers (I work in a health food store for cats and dogs) to switch things up every 4-6 months, sometimes every 3 mths. as it provides a diff. source of protein and other nutrients and can then give a more balanced diet long-term. I don't believe that any one food company, and one flavor can possibly provide 100% of every dogs' nutritional needs, so mixing things up can help cover all bases. I'm talking good quality foods as well as raw and meaty bones here.

My girls are all on Wellness CORE for kibble and topped off with Canned Castor & Pollux Natural Ultramix - two different flavors - Beef & Lamb (the canned has No Corn, No Wheat & No Meat By-Products). The were itching so much about 2 months ago when I took them off of food that had Corn and they are now so much better. Kohana my picky eater loves the combination and eats her food now!

marj what do you recommend for itchy dogs?

Both of mine have been to the vet for seasonal allergies...which I'm not sure it is.

Because after they are off the temaril p they are itching again. And it costs a fortune for a vet visit these days. $250 later and Riki's eyes are still red around the outside from him pawing them. Daisy bites her whole body. They are currently eating a dehydrated raw with no grains from New Zealand.

I cry every day because of my own allergies...tearing up in the morning and at night, so it could be allergies to the air...but what food do you suggest?

What do your dogs eat?

I didn't just get havanese, I got a lifestyle!

We have 3 different kibbles in her bowl now and she eats them all. She has an iron stomach and never gets tummy troubles. I'm going to throw in some Flint River trout and potato next and see how that goes.
Does anyone else's hav take one piece at a time, go to another location and eat it, come back and repeat about 50 times??
