black and white puppy to silver and white dog

I finally found some of Riki's puppy photos that I had on regular film before my newer digital camera. When Riki was a puppy at 11 weeks when we brought him home, he was black and white with silver rings around his eyes...by eight months he was completely silver and white. At times, bits more of black come out and then fade again. So with a havanese you can sometimes only get what the outcome will be!

I just realize that the posts go in the opposite order, so first is Riki today at five.
The first little one is Riki after his first and almost last visit to the groomer at four months. The second one is his second visit to the groomer for just a bath when he was five 1/2 months...see how he is now beginning to grey all over. Just the tips are black.

When I find the nine month photo, he turned a blue/silver. His color continues to change...

Riki's last visit to the groomer was when he was a little over a year. He looks so much like a poodle that he would be embarrassed by the photo. I have to tell you I cried for an hour. Since then I do the grooming, no one to blame but me...

I didn't just get havanese, I got a lifestyle!

Ahh the old groomer made him look like a poodle problem, been there cryed over that as well! Also made Hobbes look like a lion dog once when I asked to keep his face full.
Never thought a black and white could change that much. I do love the silver!

Do you no if there is a reson Hav chnge in color so much.... it like getting a surprise package in 6 or so months.... and then finding out once her black tips were cut the black doesn't come back....Lizzy has very little black on her now most silver and white.... so my guess is if you have your hear set on a certain color don't be surprised if there is a huge change.....Helene

I might of found my Dexter twin! I love the gray coloring.

It doesn't matter to me what color ends up being, Dexter has already won our hearts!

Color changes in Havs are like getting a present each year!

He looks so pretty in his silver! Funny-the same seems to be happening to me lately bit by bit and the results aren't so pretty.....
I'm wondering if Pixie will eventually turn all white. One brown spot on her side has faded quite a bit already. I'm not letting anyone cut her ears so that I can keep her tips.

To To cute... I would not let anyway touch her ears either.... I told the groomers no ears cut she still has some black and a tad above her tail but her back is silver now...I think God knew when he created the Hav's how much they would be loved....Helene

My Daisy went from black and white to silver and white, and Emmy went from dark sable pied to silver and white! Their color changes are so fun!
The pics are:
Baby Emmy, then her at 3 1/2 years old
And Daisy at 5 yrs old and baby Daisy at the bottom
