Hi!!! It's been a really long time since I have been able to post here. I've read some, but not posted.

I had lots of you pm me, and I really appreciate it. I even got a C&P of a post from here asking about us. (just got it though- sorry!)

We are fine. We had a house fire last year, and were displaced from our home for almost 8 months. In that time we moved from a hotel, to an apartment, to a rental house, and then finally home.

My mom offered to keep Princess, as she was the more mellow of the 2, and completely house broken at that time.. not to mention she is lazy and would lay at her feet while she worked, not demanding too much out time, so perfect for my mother.

We did have Jewels (she's the 'baby', Princess is the older one) listed to try and get her to a good home, but we had a issue with her breeder. She wanted us to let her take her back, and if she thought she could be re-homed, she would re-home her... but of course, none of our money would be returned, and we would have no say in re-homing her. That wasn't really an acceptable option to me.

So I again begged the different family members to take her. Dh's brother ended up taking her to live with him. She then went onto my cousin's who lives on a farm in TN. (which she loved)

We are back in our house, things still aren't right, and I still look for things that aren't here... but hey we were all out, and with 5 kids and 2 dogs, that in itself is a miracle.

I have been having a string of bad luck though. We got both of our babies back, and then I went away to a religious retreat in St. Louis... where I promptly fell and broke my ankle. (gotta be careful what you ask for, I asked for a break, and God gave me a break )

So, after getting our girls home they had to be shipped back off again, after my surgery I was wheelchair bound, and couldn't get them out in time.

The girls went to stay with my bil and they just got back home from his house. (I'm mobile on crutches part time now) - He ruined my girls. They are both knotted to hell, and 1 of them is not as potty trained as she was when she left. It just makes me want to scream.

Dh and I tried to brush the girls out, but we don't really have any supplies to do it appropriately, and no good groomer (only 2 in my area) can take them for weeks.

So, they are probably going to be getting shaved tomorrow. I can't stand the idea of making them suffer, and we can't get into a groomer to get them help here locally.

Alright, I'm done babbling... if you made it this far you deserve an award.

I'm glad to be back, I hope to post more often... I have been reading and watching as everyone's babies have grown up. It's amazing how quickly!

Quick, lets get the treats out of the bag before Mom sees!

Hi Jodi,

Welcome back! I found this wonderful forum in the fall of 08'. I have learned so much from everyone here, as this is my first dog, and I've been pretty clueless. I am sorry that you have been through so much. I hope that 2009 is a great new beginning for you and your family. You deserve an extra good year now!

Welcome back Jodi. I'm glad you found your way back to us!

There have been alot of us "old timers" wondering about you and your family/furkids.

It sounds like you have been through quite an ordeal and just think positive going forward. I struggle with that myself, but I'm trying.

Wishing you more forum visits and a great 2009!
