People who do not clean up after their dogs

There are large piles of poop here and around (I live in an apartment complex). It's bad. Not only does it look bad (from big and small dogs alike) but it limits me to where I will bring Henry.

The building, not to mention the law, requires owners to pick up after their dogs. I have in the past removed pooh thinking the owner had no bag or whatever, but this is too much.

I do, and in fact, I even try to use brightly colored bags so that Everyone-within-view can see my intention, even windows detectives.

It has gotten so bad the building maintenance man had to put up a bag-dispenser which he now keeps filled.

What is wrong with these people??? Why can't people be respectful?

Thank you for listening to my rant. My head is about to explode. (and please someone, if my head does explode, come by and pick up the pieces in a little baggie!)

I live in a subdivision and it's the law here too, as well as in our HOA rules but people STILL don't pick it up! We have poo bag dispensers attached to Scooter's leashes so we always have them with us. My next door neighbor said if he saw another neighbor's dog poo in his yard again, happened frequently, he was going to go poo in their yard!!! My DH begged him not to do that since he'd get arrested. It is upsetting because it's so nasty!

I always pick up after Gryff and he goes in my own yard! I have picked up enormous poops off my yard from other dogs and it makes me really angry.

I've taken pictures at the ball park and turned them into the Director of people walking away after their dog pooped. There are small kids running all over the place ~ people should know better....or get caught.

Across the street from mr is an elementary school and it is a whole block. I gurss everyone walks their dogs there because no one really lives there, it's just a school. It used to be very bad, so bad that I would bring extra bags with me to clean up the poop. I didn't want to get blamed for not picking up after my dogs. Until one day a school custodian made a nasty remark that he was glad I was cleaning up all my dogs poop (except he didn't say poop). Now I walk them on a different route.

I have gone out of my house to give people the evil eye if I don't see them picking up. I've even offered bags to them, which makes them embarrassed, but then they pick it up.

^^^ interesting. Dogs are notoriously not allowed on school property - here in NJ - so I stay away. Check and see if there are any signs posted. Maybe the custodian can chase these folks away if that is the case.

That was nice of you to try to clean up. My friend's husband (they have lab) goes on walks with the big pooper-scooper - so everyone can see he's picking up.

We have a weirdly shaped yard which is very large on one side and protrudes out quite a bit. People in my subdivision think it's their personal dog walk. I'm home all day and one of my "deterrants" is when I see someone is to run and open the garage door. The sound of this magically makes them scurry away. I want to put up a sign, but I don't have the walnuts to do it-I don't like confrontation, nor do I like getting my stuff vandalized. One culprit is this guy with a huge chow whom let his dog chase ducklings. My hubby was really P***ed and saw it while he was driving home from work. He was in his dress blues and had to mind his P's and Q's, but stopped and glared at him. The guy took the dog inside. You never know what crazy lives in your neighborhood.

I'm thinking I need to get a "politically correct" one. Where have you seen them? I'm thinking ebay maybe.

IF I had the nerve-I'd make one that said
"Hello stupid. My yard is not your dog's toilet."

Did I just say that??

I live in a small complex of townhomes and there are quite a few dogs. I see poo left all the time. If I see it near where Riley goes, I usually pick it up, too. It really annoys me and we've had notices from management... But some people think they don't have to comply. **sigh**
