Vote against PETA

People for the Extermination of Tame Animals is up to more antics to keep dogshows off TV - including Westminster.

I don't know if this makes any difference but this place has a poll going and it's no trouble to vote.

I just voted. The premise, and suggestion to not cover the show is the height of asininity.

I cannot believe that BBC is caving in to that nonsense. I added my vote.

I agree Tom.

It's just poor understanding of genetics to say that inbreeding "creates" genetic disorders. It simply concentrates the alleles that are already present, both deleterious and beneficial.

These people should stick to persecuting the puppy mills and other individuals who breed dogs indiscriminately without health testing or properly socializing the puppies, and stop demonizing conscientious breeders who fund genetic studies, offer lifetime buyback guarantees, and provide fantastic companions for the rest of us.

Wanted to add: This is why it is critical that many breeds take a long, hard look at their standard and determine which elements should be changed to promote better overall health of their dogs, and to be very discriminating when determining which of their own stock to breed.

Oh, and I showed this to a couple of other geneticists and evolutionary biologists today at UPENN, and it made them laugh their a$$es off. They wanted to know what was going to happen to the dog population if you eliminated all of the breeders by law, and then neutered all of the shelter dogs....In a word, there will BE NO DOGS LEFT IN 20 YEARS!

This is exactly what PETA wants, but it doesn't stop with dogs, they want all domesticated animals to become extinct. There way of "Saving" the animals from serving man kind.
