Cuba loves David Attenborough!!

We've just had the funniest evening watching Cuba watch The Frozen Planet, David Attenborough's incomparable series. She was mesmerised, feet up on a coffee table in front of our television set so that she could see better, furious with rage at the scene where the wolves hunt buffalo, apoplectic over the polar bears, riveted by snow flakes and scenes of icebergs, not mad about the killer whales, simply couldn't make head or tail of the sea-lions - well, head ok, tail a very far cry from any animal she'd ever come across! What ARE those flipper-y things - she was pawing at the screen. As for penguins….My Coton, Tycho, joined in from time to time but couldn't be bothered with frozen scenery - polar bears and wolves, fine, icebergs - nope, not interested.

It was really fascinating - I was so surprised at how fascinated SHE was!!
I once had an Abyssinian/Burmese cross cat who was obsessed with snooker (pool); she would sit in front of the set and bat at it whenever the balls came down to the pockets in the foreground - really funny!!

Here are Cuba and Tycho watching a polar bear fight - it was rather dark, but it's come out more or less viewable:

It's funny… Kodi pays absolutely NO attention to the TV, no matter what's on.

What a cutie

Zelda loves watching baseball. I have a poor-quality video of her laying on her tummy watching the Washington Nationals at bat. She has a plastic water bottle casually hanging out of her mouth while she's chillin'.

Oh my goodness, that is so cute. Mae is a bigger TV watcher then Tim. She will bark if she hears a doorbell, car horn or dog barking on the TV and will sit and watch to see where it's coming from. Her attention span is about 30 seconds so she quick to return eating something she shouldn't be or bothering her brother.

That's a great shot, Lalla. Tyler used to be like that with the TV when he had good eyesight. Bailey was never interested in watching but reacted to every bark, doorbell or whatever. They are all so different. Just like kids I guess.

Thanks, Mary! It's a bit gruesome - those polar bears were in a dreadful state by the end. Tychy isn't much interested in it usually but seemed to be egged on by Cuba this time. He quite likes watching Crufts, the big annual dog show here!!

Oh, I should make THAT exception… Kodi doesn't WATCH TV, but if a doorbell rings or there is a knock on the door on TV, he goes FLYING to the door!
