BUSTED! Gryff caught red-handed

The other day, Gryff was in the kitchen eating a cookie. I didn't know how he got it, but I had a sneaking suspicion. This morning, I caught the little theif STANDING on top of my kitchen table polishing off Alec's breakfast! From now on, I have to make sure there is no food on the table or the chairs are pushed all the way in.

He's one smart cookie. Did he climb up a chair and then onto a table? I wish you videotaped that one!

That's exactly what he did, the little stinker. I wish I caught it on video, but by the time I saw him on the table and he saw me, he jumped down and ran. He knew he was a bad doggie.

Miley does the same thing. We've been trying to break her of it. She knows she's not supposed to do it, but when we're not in sight, she's on the table, checking for any morsels the kids left behind. Drives DH crazy. Any ideas how to break them of this?? We've tried the water bottle...but she loves getting wet...it just adds to the fun for her.

Renee, Miley, & Copper too!

Dusty and Indie have been known to do this, but it's rare. The kitchen chairs are slippery, so they don't try it unless there is something really good on the table and everyone is out of the room. In our busy house, they are usually not alone in the kitchen or it would be a bigger problem!

I wish you had a surveillance camera! What a cute clip it would have been to watch. These are such smart furballs.

Shadow was our climber. My goodness, nothing was safe with her! She would climb on anything and everything. Some of her favorites were, of course, the dining room table, my desk (pens and pencils were definitely her favorite chew toys), the table where I work w/my students, and the most surprising of all... the toilet! One day I caught her on it unrolling the toilet paper; she was pawing at it and just watching it fall on the floor, I have no doubt she was preparing for a "shred-fest"

Thank goodness, Tori is much more "down to earth"

Watch out Gryff has just started. Some things are funny at first. We have to keep dining chairs pushed all the way in, the end chairs have to be leaning and now my kitchen bar stools have to be pulled away from the bar or Smarty will be on my kitchen counters. This is past funny for us, we are afraid of what she might get if the wrong thing is left out. My burner knobs are on the flat part of the unit, worrying about grand children when installed and now I find myself afraid Smarty will turn them on.

This is not just when we are gone, she sneaks in there anytime she thinks we are not watching. Apparently she helped herself to treats, fruit and whatever before we realized what she was doing.. Heaven forbid her being loose during a dinner party.
