he peed on the couch!

i need some help, we changed djangos daily dose of prednesone on monday, my DH took the dog out to pee before he left for work, wasn't sure if he actually peed or not, i left earlier, and the dog peed on the couch! i don't know if he was stressed because while down in florida the past 2 weeks he was with us 24/7 but we have been home for days and he has not peed on the couch. not sure what happened here, should i confine him back to the kitchen or do i look at this as a one time deal? i am having the couch steamed cleaned today and i don't want to bring them back. any tips?

When Lincoln was on Prednisone for allergies, it really revved up his metabolism - he would drink a TON and then pee a LAKE. I am wondering if Django is experiencing the same, and if his bladder was just extremely full, or filling up fast, and he just had to go. On the couch.

You could put him in an xpen while you are gone, or have him wear a belly band, just in case, until things settle down.

Prednisone does the same thing to our lab....lots of water, lots of pee. I'd keep him in the kitchen for now....

I don't really have any tips on this, but Gucci did pee on the couch ONCE when she was in heat. I have NOOO idea what the heck that was about, but it was an isolated incident and I was SOOOO freaking mad that maybe that's why she never did it again. I rarely ever lose my temper but I think I said every cuss word I knew..

And it ended up being $125 to clean the couches, went ahead and did the other ones too.

So, no solution, but hopefully it is a one time thing.

Poor Django baby! I'll bet he feels terrible for doing that! That's a hard situation.

yea, poor guy, i have read that sometimes they leak pee when they are sleeping because the pred. makes them pee tons so, what ever it was, we hope it doesnt happen again. it's hard for me to get mad at him cuz i know he didn't do it on purpose. had the couch cleaned today, so far all is good.

It's the meds. Pred makes them drink alot. He was probably asleep on the couch and just couldn't hold it until he got to where he was supposed to go.
