What are your goals with your Havanese for 2014?

It'd be interesting to read what objectives people are working on with the Havanese for the coming year; training objectives, behavioral issues, show ring goals, etc.

I'll start with mine:
  1. Manage (eliminate) Rory's separation anxiety
  2. Continue her housebreaking progress
  3. Continue her basic obedience training
  4. Train a 100% reliable recall
  5. Get her bangs grown back out
  6. Visit the 2014 National Specialty in Portland, OR

Ooooo good thread, if I publicize my goals I might actually follow through. My goals went wacky after Mae arrived and my priorities changed big time. I just registered Tim for classes again and also signed up Mae for Basic Obedience classes, one of my goals for this year. I would love to get Tim in his first Rally or Obedience trial this year. Mae has made strides with her commands such as sit, down, basic manners like no jumping, house breaking, walking on a leash, comb outs, eye wiping and teeth cleaning etc... but I hope she will enjoy training as much as Timmy does. She's learned a ton these past few months even without attending Puppy K. I am also hoping to start grooming myself, I've kept them going to the groomer so Mae will get used to the routine and the transition to me won't be too traumatic. I am waiting on my grooming table I ordered last week and will probably purchase the ionic dryer you have. I'll have to start studying my Nose to Tail book. One more goal I have is to look into making my own food. Since adding Mae obviously my food purchases have gone up considerably so I think home cooked might be the way to go. I would also be making my cat's food as well, so we'll see. Oh and I would LOVE to go to Nationals this, year but I think I might be taking my daughter to college so that's a long shot, plus a pretty big expense. I had a blast last year.

In addition to continuing to provide a home where both Dana and Gibbs feel safe and loved, I'd like to work on Gibbs recall.

Dana's too, but ....

Oh gosh - 1 1/2 weeks ago 2014 meant one thing - and now it means another!

1- I hope and pray to get Logan back to his normal, loving active self, after blowing out his knee last week.

2 - I hope to get him back to pet therapy so that he can be loved on by all his admirers.

3. I hope to get Lily over the hump of being 10 years old and keep her healthy for a long long time.

4. to help Laila thru her spring litter, have healthy, happy puppies this spring

5. - to of course - go to Nationals!!! I have my hotel reservations already!

6. - Survive my son's wedding planning and wedding in October

7- and possibly - go to the Montana mountains with friends for Xmas 2014

* Finish Kodi's World Cynosport ARCHMX (the highest title in Rally)
* Finish his AKC Pre-Novice and move up to Pre-Open in Obedience
* I'd REALLY like to get his AKC Novice Obedience, but I can't rush the group stays, so not sure on that one!
* Finish his AKC Novice Standard in agility and move up to Open
* Finish his CDSP Open and move up to Utility

And mostly… JUST HAVE FUN playing with my boy!

Oh… and keep wearing Dave down on the "idea" of a puppy… but I suspect that won't happen in 2014

My plan for 2014 is to keep Tyler as happy and healthy as possible for the time he has left with us. Right now he is doing remarkable and enjoying working out on his treadmill with lots of treats during his 15 minute work outs.

MY plan for Tyler is for him to be the world's (second) oldest Havanese… and healthy too! (I have to say second oldest, because Twinkle is 6 months older, and I want her to stay around too!)
