Post Forum wide information request

I have to get an A in my research class to get into my Behavioral Science program. So, after more then 3 topics were nixed by the instructor, I decided to do my research paper on the lovable, cute and fluffy official history of the official dog of Cuba!

I talked forever last night with Karen about who to look into and what are the main books to try to acquire. This is where you all come in. Any books, articles, pamphlets, ect you would be willing to borrow for me for the duration of this semester would be very helpful. Private message me for email or home address. Be the information be on "Havs" or "Silks" I want to know about it all! There is no point to this paper other then making my instructor happy, and getting an A. Well, I take that back, I get to look at millions of pictures of dogs and puppies and get a grade for it!

Thank you all for any help you can give!

Well, that sounds like a fun project, Krimsin!

Do you mean that you'd like us to lend you reading material on the Havanese? In my case, that wouldn't be possible since you live so far and postage would cost a bloody fortune!! But, you can try and get "The Joyous Havanese", any of the "Our Havanese" magazines, both written/produced by Kathryn Braund. There is "The Havanese" by Diane Klumb, very good.

If you check out the HCA website or the Cdn. one, Havanese Fanciers of Canada, you'll find good links and reading material info.

Good luck!

Really, does anyone have mags or book that are in the country that would be willing to scan and email to me, or ship?

Sorry, none here! But, I wish you luck in gathering enough info for your paper. Other than googling, I don't have suggestions, either. I am also in school, and it can be difficult to find sources for a few topics! Have you tried contacting your college librarian? Sometimes they are a good source!

I haven't bought or subscribed to anything yet. I suggest your local public libray. We have a large one and I almost always find what I need there. Good luck. Oh another idea what about your breeder?

My local library stinks, we live in small town Nebraska where most of the nonfiction paper back have been donated....by me! The budget there is about 5k a year. Quite sad really. I am really just looking for that person who is willing to loan/scan me the books or the magazines on Havs, if I don't find soon, I will start forking out the $$ on Ebay. But thought I would tap this place first seeing as we are like minded. I did get some interesting Emails from some breeders, my breeder pointed me too. Actually more like impressive. I just can't wait till it is over with in all honestly. I do love taking the time looking at pictures of Havanese and such, that's the coolest thing about the project!

You can get the Havanese Books from Amazon .com and they are reasonably priced and you may be able to resell them ..
I do not know what information you need but if you google Havanese you should come up with something .. Also a lot of the breeders have interesting information about the breed on their websites - it takes time but it can be fun and you also have an opportunity to see some wonderful pictures of dogs and pupppies ..
Not to mention the Havanese Calendar if you want pictures it you can buy from this site .
There is a lot of information about the breed on this forum if you take the time to look at topics that might interest you and be of interest to you professor ..
Have Fun - Hope you get that A

What a neat idea to also use the Forum's searching to find topics that might be helpful...the only problem with that is that I imagine that it will be hard to limit yourself to just hunting for the appropriate parts!
