Durable Dog Toys

I'm looking for doggie toys that last more than a few days. Jack's adult teeth are in now and he can chew through any of his toys. Luckily he's shown no desire to chew on things that are not his (except for running off with any shoes he can find - but it's a keep away game rather than chewing on them). He loves squeaky toys as he punches them with his nose to make them squeak and then he whimpers with them.
Has anyone found a good source of toys that can withstand the onslaught a dog's desire to consume it?

Manny loves his Kong. I don't load it with treats but he likes it anyway. Nice thing about it is that it's smooth and if I step on it it doesn't kill my feet. He's already chewed through one of his teething toys. I don't even see teeth marks on the Kong.

I tried to stick a link in, didn't work. West Paw toys are made of some very durable stuff called zogoflex or something. We have a little dumbbell shaped toy from that company and Finn has not even been able to put a tooth mark in it. He loves it. Also Chuck-It balls are durable, at least in our house. Those are a big favorite here too for fetch.

Emmie loves Chuckit! Ultra balls, size Small. We play fetch with them but she also loves to chew on them and they don't wear down at all.

Sorry. We never found ANYTHING that Kodi couldn't destroy if he set his mind to it. He even chewed the ends off the black "Aggressive chewer" (AKA made for Pit Bulls ) Kongs.

The good news is that he HAS (mostly) grown out of toy destruction. He still occasionally will "de-stuff" one, but most of them last a LONG time now. He was past two before the toy destruction started to taper off.

The good thing was that, like your guy, he didn't ever bother things that weren't his. So we kind of shrugged our shoulders and figured they ere his to do with as he wanted. He did seem perfectly happy with his "skins" after he had removed all the stuffing, and one of his FAVORITE toys has always been plastic gallon water bottles. Those certainly aren't indestructible, but they are cheap enough to replace regularly, and then can be recycled.

I would love to find some brands of durable stuffed toys. She loves to play with stuffed squeaky toys but destroys them so fast.

I guess we are lucky because Ginger doesn't destroy her stuffed toys. She just likes to play with them, fetching and tossing them about. She mainly chews on chews. The only thing she had started to "destroy" was pulling the fluffy threads on her bed liners. We ended up putting pillow cases on them and she stopped. To satisfy her urge to rip apart something we give her the inner rolls of paper towels or a paper bag. Once she tears it up we just pick up the pieces. She never swallows any of it, just rips and spits it out. The "mess" is usually just in a small area. She has so many toys, she plays with most of them equally, so they are all still in good shape. Her favorite things are a piece of braided rope we play tug o war with and some thin rope I tied to a round rubbery "teething" type ring. She brings that to us to play tug o war with also.

Having raised so many pups over my lifetime some are destructive with their toys and some can keep their toys for years. It just seems to be an individual personality thing. Of our current three dogs, I have 2 that are gentle on their toys and 1 that will destroy toys in a heartbeat!

Thanks all for the suggestions. You know I have a kong tube from when Jack was small and I forgot about that so I just dug it out of his drawer and he's playing with it and I don't think he could chew through that but I'll have to give it a couple of hours first. I will look up all the suggestions online and see what they say. I should have mentioned that one toy he hasn't come close to destroying is a Nerf ball made for dogs (it's like a rubber globe around a tennis ball). It's hard rubber (like the kong). Thanks again.
