Talking I love Buttons - my little Havanese!

I was spending time with my dog Buttons today and I realized how much I just LOVE her! Some of you reading this may remember her as Pawpins the dog I adopted about 8 months ago.

Well I have to share with you that she is the sweetest little dog there is! I was outside today changing a lightbulb and it took a bit of time and Buttons was out there with me, but she was exploring the yard. Well I turned around and saw her laying by the bird feeder with the birds and squirrels. She didn't chase them, she was just hanging out with them! She's such a sweet dog, she likes cats and other little calm dogs (she doesn't like big crazy dogs so much). Right now, as I type this she's laying right next to me. She comes with us EVERYWHERE we can possible bring her.

My Aunt, who was terribly scared by a dog 40 years ago and has NEVER petted a dog since that scare is head over heals over Buttons. She loves her! She has NEVER allowed any dog in her home and not only is Buttons welcomed there - but my Aunt bought her toys and lets her on the furniture! My mom, my Aunt's sister, is AMAZED!

Buttons is also a little character too. I was in the living room and I heard crinkling noises in the kitchen and I had my camera in my hand (good thing) to catch her trying to steal her favorite treats out of the kitchen cabinet. Here's a short video - it's a little grainy, but you'll get the idea:

My husband Mark and I are enjoying her SOOOOO much! I LOVE my Havanese!

Patty, that video of Buttons is so cute. I can just see her wishing for opposable thumbs so she could open the bag! She's not allowed to talk to McKenna and Sedona because I keep the dog treats in a lower cabinet just like you do. I'd hate for her to share her cabinet door opening trick with them.....
She's a precious girl and I love reading about how much everyone loves her.

Susan

Patty....that is so funny. Love how Buttons is looking up at the end as if to say "Well, I got them out. Now do you mind opening the package for me?"

Hi Patty,
It is so nice to hear from you. Buttons sure is a sweetie! I am so glad she is fitting in so well and that you are all smitten with one and another. Please post some more pictures. She is a real beauty.

Cute video! Like Susan said, Buttons isn't allowed to talk to my dogs either because we also keep our Carvers in a lower cabinet (that is their favorite commercial treat).

Thanks for sharing! I particularly like the part about your aunt..these little creatures have such a healing effect on one's soul, don't they?
My 15 year old told me she had a rough night last night...just couldn't sleep, kept waking up...finally went into my other daughter's room to snatch Marley (they take turns every night as who gets to have him and went straight to sleep having him by her side.

Patty,

Buttons looks and sounds like such a lovely dog. So patient and kind. What a catch!
