Cow hooves

Our Jasmine loves to chew on cow hooves, she has loved them pretty much since we got her. Problem is, when she chews them now, she/they seem to stink a lot more. We're not sure if it's a brand issue, or if it's just because she's gotten "older" (closing in on 1 year). Anyone have any experience with this? Any recommendations (aside from getting her to kick the hoof habit)?

Try antlers. We prefer animal parts that weren't walked around on the ground and worse. Cows don't care what they step on. The antlers add no odor but the dogs still love them.

Antlers? Really? I've never heard of giving antlers to dogs. I learn so much on this forum!

I tried the antlers and neither of mine are interested. Cody will pick one up every once in a while, but only to throw in the air.

Funny you should mention it. I just threw away a new hoof last night because I couldnt stand the smell. They always smell, but lately it seems worse than ever. I have been buying them from the same place, so I don't know what it is. Maybe I will try antlers. I also use cow ears, mine love them and they don't smell.

The Moo bully sticks are a big hit around here with me cause of the no smell. I will say red barn are their favorites but I HATE the smell!

Tom, where do you buy the antlers? I got a few at a dog show awhile back but I haven't seen them recently. Mine did like them.

Todd used to have a hoof but I read that some dogs break teeth on them and so I threw it away. I never noticed a smell from the hoof.
Instead he eats bully sticks and flossies mostly.
He likes pig ears but doesn't eat them..he just shreds them into tiny pieces and scatters them around the house..lol

We've tried pig ears, they didn't seem to go over that well. We'll see about the antlers and (Moo) bully sticks (?) Thanks

I order the antler (called Antlerz) through Amazon. I also got 3 packs of Pearly Whites. Pixie does NOT like the Pearly Whites and is currently just moderately interested in the antler (which doesn't smell!). Thanks to all who shared the info on these. She just seems to love the rawhide rolls (American of course). I know I have to keep an eye on her with those and I clip off the hanging pieces. Maybe I'll try to reintroduce the antler, but the Pearly Whites are going to my mom's tzu, who is part woodchuck and will love them.
