Neezers and Corrections

So on occasion, I have to correct the dogs as I am sure you guys do too. Today was one of those days. I had a repair man here for the dishwasher and all 3 of them would not leave the poor guy alone. I assume it is the outfit, the belt, the tools, etc. They were barking and trying to get him as he was getting into their dishwasher. So I took all of them over and put them in the xpen and made them do a down. Belle just looks at me like she hates me and I should be in the pen. Dora and Dash go nuts wanting to make it up to me. The repairman leaves and I let them out and Dasher is stuck to me like glue kissing me and jumping on me. He is really the most sensitive dog. He is almost always a great dog so I can honestly say I hardly ever have to correct him. He doesn't chew things, came to me housebroken, and really doesn't do bad doggy things.

But it reminded me on Sunday during our obedience class Dasher broke his down (he needs to stay in a down for 3 mins while I am on the other side of the room). I just grabbed him put him back in a down where he was and walked back to my spot. When I returned and released him he was insane on loving me and kissing me. And everyone there noticed it. He really is the most sensitive sweet natured dog I have ever known.

How do your Neezers handle corrections?

McKenna isn't phased by corrections and responds well most of the time. Sometimes she just looks at us like, "yeah, right." Sedona always tries to apologize even if it isn't her we are correcting. She jumps up and wants kisses and pets. Rumor, oh my, if Rumor even THINKS someone is getting corrected, she's immediately right beside us or even on our lap. She is super-sensitive. Their reactions follow their personalities. McKenna is the strong, independent, inquisitive girl while Sedona is the lover and Rumor is the ultimate in submissive.

Okay, I am making sure I am not raising a sissy baby boy! Isabelle just doesn't listen when I do corrections and Dora never does anything that needs correcting<BG> Dash for the most part is like Dora but boy he goes crazy trying to make it up to me. Jumping to kiss me, love me, it is out of control.

As to the pic, I gotta tell you I sent this picture to a girlfriend and she asked me if that was the picture I was trying to use to "sell him on puppyfind"- HAHAHHA! I thought he looked sensitive. She thought he looked like omg what is mom putting in my hair and what is up with this frog. Someone please come save me from this lady!

I think that's a very nice picture of sensitive Dash!

Tess always looks like she's trying to decide if she's going to go along with my "request" or ignore me completely. She rarely gets in trouble so correcting her doesn't occur very often, but when it does, she isn't phased at all. Cody on the other hand is very sensitive. If I sternly correct him he slinks off with his head drooping and just looks heartbroken. He'll go sit in the corner or on the landing until I go and get him. He's got 'invoking the guilt trip' down cold.

Both my boys sulk! Cash for a moment. Jasper sometimes for days!!! LOL. When I was trying to let him know the mail was MINE he went into a deep funk for months. That is why we let him handle all the bills now. LOL

I know we let him win. But wouldn't you prefer a few dog eared bills and a happier dog?

Tori is ultra sensitive. Thank goodness she behaves as well as she does. I don't have to correct her often at all. On the rare occasion I do correct her, immediately her head and tail are down and she slinks v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y to sit at my feet. Once there, she promptly starts licking and pawing what ever part of me is within her reach. I know it is her way of apologizing for making me unhappy. Once I respond to her, she's all over me with excitement. Honestly, I think her #1 goal in life is to please me, no matter what. She's such a sweetie!

This thread is very interesting. We have wondered if Daisy's behavior is breed typical or just her and it sounds like the latter is the case. The only time Daisy cowers is when she thinks something may fall on her, like items from the overhead lockers in the RV. She is very skitish about things like that. However, she never reacts in any way when she is scolded ... but ... and this is a very big but ... she does modify her behavior based on what she got into trouble for. Which probably accounts for why she was so easy to housebreak.
Is anyone elses Hav wierd about rolls of kitchen products, like plastic wrap or aluminum foil? Daisy just goes crazy whenever I pull and tear a piece off of the roll, barking and charging like crazy!!
