Beard and mustache

I have a 7 month puppy. I do not plan to show him, however I want to keep him in full show coat. How do you keep their beard and mustache clean when they eat? Do you use a snood??

oh I wish!
I think a snood only works for their ears, I used one on my Gordon Setter when I was showing her as her ears were very long. Atticus isn't in as long a coat as many on here so they can chime in but I just wipe him off with a wet towel.

A breeder friend of mine bands her boys facial hair but that's because he chews his off while he eats.

My Dresden has a white mouth and is in full coat, I just wash his mouth after every meal and he has very minimal staining.

I just wipe Whimsy's mouth with a damp paper towel after she eats. She gets a bath every 10 days.

I also wipe Emmie's face with a damp paper towel after she eats and she doesn't like it. I tell her tough...get over it. LOL

Tyler actually washes his own beard after meals when he drinks his water. Because of this, I have to change his water quite often until he drinks and it's clear. He does a great job! I always dry his beard with a towel every time he drinks to keep staining down.
