LMAO Bunny Shows? Wha???

OMG I am lauging so hard right now its not even funny. I couldnt catch my breath. So, I guess they REALLY do have Rabbit shows. Just like dog shows, but with bunnies. Did you know there is a bunny out there that has hair instead of fur?! Sound like a dog we all know?

And! They have a bunny that looks like a rug. LOL It looks like something you walk on. Oh! you know what it really looks like, is the dog in the toy group that always has to go last because they are so fluffy and take a billion hours to walk around the ring. LOL Except the bunny is a little more stringy.

Anyway, I thought I would share the amusment I had this morning. Our news station here was at a Rabbit Show today. Im sure its not funny... But everything is funny to me right now with now sleep for four days. LOL

Take care,
S

My sister has two rabbits she got from rescue. Unlike the dog world, the rabbit rescue people do not seem to like rabbit show people. It seems to be that the rabbit breeding gets out of hand very quickly (they are bunnies!) and the rescue ends up trying to find homes when a breeder can't contain things.

I haven't met my sister's rabbits but I hear stories all the time. One is a 12 pounder (a Checkered Giant--very striking looks) and I am pretty sure he could beat up my dogs! The other is somewhat smaller, but still a good-sized rabbit. My sister keeps them as house rabbits--loose in the house like our dogs. They are very smart-get excited when she comes home, like to be petted, use a litter box, plot escapes, chew up her stuff, etc.

There's a reason the saying is "breeding like rabbits" lol. My little siblings did 4-H and they showed all kinds of things, I think they did bunnies one year. I didn't realize they had dedicated shows for them though.

We had a pet bunny, Emmitt. He looked just like the 1st one taken out of it's cage in the video. He was an otter dwarf bunny. We brought him home from a 4-H fair one year. We kept him in a cage. He died last year. We had him for about 6 years. I didn't realized they had exclusive rabbit shows. I thought they just did it thru 4-H. Learn something new everyday.

Yes, and there are cat shows too! My former stylist was telling me about them. Her parents have a cattery and always go to the cat shows, which are very different from dog shows. The cats stay in cages until the judge approaches the cage, then they take them out, stretch them out and and check them over. It sounds amusing. And the owners decorate the cages like a benched dog show.
