Signs of allergies????

Hi there,
I suspect that my dog has allergies....my husband disagrees. Can you please tell me what are some signs that a dog may have allergies?
Thanks so much!
Tammy

Licking feet or other areas of skin, rubbing ears or eyes, digestive problems, there are more, and not every dog with allergies has all of them. When Kodi is having allergy problems, he licks his feet and the underside of his tail.

Also realize those symptoms doesn't necessarily means there is an allergy.

Colbie use to lick the fur near her chest and legs. I finally realized it was the water we put in the bowl with her kibble. She is a messy eater and she would get it on those areas.

My Westie has allergies. I have had him allergy tested to environmental allergies and he tested positive (positive enough to include in the allergy shot...not even including everything he tested positive for at all) for 32/56 items tested for. He has food allergies as well, but those are harder to determine as a skin/blood test is not as accurate (according to the allergy doctor). His symptoms were GI upset (throwing up bile almost every morning), skin problems (looked like scabs down his back, and a different skin problem on his stomach eventually), and frequent licking of his front paws. A little hair loss, but it is more like hair thinning.

Thanks for the signs. I see her digging her face into the floor or grass and sliding it forward...both sides. She occasionally bites her feet/nails. She does a lot of licking under her tail (but it is directed at her female area) and sometimes even grooms her tail...pulling the hairs through her teeth.

Does anything of this sound like I should follow up with a vet, or allergy doctor if there is such a thing?

Thank you in advance.

All of those things are things all dogs do SOME of the time. I guess it depends on whether she is doing it to excess. But it never hurts to have a vet check her out if you are concerned!
