I don't know if we have any forum members from Australia, but my heart goes out to the folks of that nation. I just read that 181 people have died and millions of animals have died also. The article I read stated surviving animals such as joey's (baby kangaroos) having their little ears burned off, kangaroos with burned feet, Koala's with burned feet & noses, turtles with shells that have just about melted and are still alive. Animals such as wombats, who have survived by staying in their burrows, emerged to find destruction and ashes - no food & no water & certain death from starvation...it just chokes me up.
I know we are all animal lovers here on the forum and I wanted to share with you a video on youtube of a guy giving a drink of water to a koala with scorched feet and it is truly heartbreaking, yet at the same time inspiring to see how animals respond when they know you are trying to care for them.
Folks, hug your family and your little havs tonight and pray for the folks and animals who are hurting down under.
