Where do your furbabies stay when you run errands?

I'm just curious. When you are going to be away for just an hour or two for simple errands, where do your furbabies stay? Do they have run of the house? Do they stay in an ex-pen? A crate? One closed room?

Run of the house except the bathrooms Although sometimes after cleaning, I will expen them out of a room while floors dry. Most times, they are sleeping on the couch but Dash is often on top of the couch looking out the window waiting for me to come home.

Since Milo is just a year old and manages to "get into" things, he stays in his ex-pen. He's quite content there.

Tucker has the run of the house while I'm out. I'm sometimes gone for 6 hours at a time. Any longer than that and I have someone come let him outside for a bit. He's been trustworthy about that since he was a little over a year old. He hasn't had an accident yet. He has never chewed anything up, though, (except papers, Ha!) I have a cat and they keep each other company. I do hate leaving him, though...

My brother came for a couple-day visit last week, and it was interesting. He said that when I left for class Tucker apparently has a spot on the couch where he sits, where he can see both doors, and that is where he stayed until I got home. Sweet little darling! (Tucker, I mean.)

Petunia is only 13 weeks old, when we leave the house she stays in her crate with the door open inside her ex-pen. She finally understands that we will return and she no longer screams and cries when we leave her alone.

Kubrick has free run of the main rooms (we close the bedroom and bathroom doors mostly out of habit... he'd be fine with them open, as he is when we forget to close them) but Hitch is too young so he's in an expen.

My bichon mix has run of the house, but if the trash is the least bit full. She'll get into it Cooper (hav) and Bodie (whatever he is) are crated.

I trust Bodie not to go to the bathroom in the house. Cooper..eh, not so much. But then again, he'll go wether I'm in the same room with him or not, lol. Only Bodie goes to the door and rings the bell. My BIGGEST fear, is that they'll get into a scuffle. Just playing, and one of them will get hurt. Most likely, they'd all crash on the couch and not budge till I get home. But, I'd worry none the less. Oh, and I'd be concerned about my blinds as well. They'd probably trash them if I wasn't there to tell them to get away from the window whenever they see a leaf blow by.

when i'm just going to be gone for two or three hours max, i put posh in her crate. meanwhile, i do basically trust her, it's mostly just for her safety. i have little kids and i can't guarantee they haven't left out something she might chew...meanwhile, my husband is the biggest of these "kids."

When it was just Max, there was no problem. Now, there's Cooper, too.
