Sobbing to bury his flossie?

I have been trying to figure out what Moxie is saying when he cries with a brand new flossie before settling down to chew it. Does anyone think that his urge is to bury it maybe??
Sometimes he then puts it down in defeat, clearly miserable. Once he starts them, he loooves them, but this behavior still has me puzzled.
I know that Pablo cries from excitement, but Moxie doesn't seem happy. Anybody notice this?

Yes! When I give Lucy a new flossy she runs around the house with it in her mouth whining. We generally take them away after 1/2 hour, so it's a treat she can enjoy for a week or so. She only does the strange running around the house when it is brand new.

I have been wondering about Bess's behavior too. She is very interested and attracted to ti. She sniffs at the flossy. Jumps away and rubs her nose on the rug. She does this multiple times. But never picks it up to chew on it?????

I have stopped offering them.

Debra, you're right, Pablo cries and it's really a pitiful and desperate cry. He doesn't seem happy either. I just try to pet him and tell him to 'go hide it' by starting to show him places to dig and hide his flossie (his bed, a blanket, etc.). He now still cries but is happier when I give him a 'solution' by telling him to go hide it.
