Himalayan Chews

I've stated before how much Ginger loves these. She has also created a routine with them after the nub is puffed up in the microwave. It actually smells really good after "baking" for 1 minute. Besides going nuts over the puffs (she can't wait till it cools down, so now I put it in the freezer to cool faster LOL), she hides and buries/covers it up all over the house. She will even take it outside and bury/cover it up, only to go get it 10-15 minutes later. Best treat there is IMO.

Have you noticed that the vary? I have some that takes Sheldon a couple of months to devour. Then I had one that he easily chewed up in day! I don't get it.

I agree that HC are the best treats. Ginny and Griffin adore them (especially Griff, he is obsessed)! They don't make the dogs snippy/possessive like Bully Sticks and they seem like a safe choice (unlike rawhides), but the dogs remain interested in them.
I thought antlers would be good, but G&G quickly lost interest.
I've noticed the size difference, Deb. I actually bought the large Himalayan Chews - thinking they would last longer - but they break pretty easily into small pieces when dropped by a dog on a tile floor.

That is so cute about Ginger's little ritual I gave one to Whimsy when she was younger and she turned her nose up at them. I'm going to give them another try now that she is older.

I tried HC with Leo when he was younger and he would have nothing to do with them. I tried again a few months ago and he liked them better but preferred other things. However in the past couple of months HC have become his chew of preference. I only give them to him at the office when I need him to settle for awhile. He will chew and chew then fall asleep. Works like a charm when I have work I need to focus on and can't interact with him.

Colbie loves these and so did I as they didn't smell or make a mess. Unfortunately, as she got all her adult teeth, she went from chewing and scraping to biting off chunks and swallowing them. I became concerned since some of the pieces were very sharp.

She did love them, especially the last piece puffed in the microwave.

Sheldon had no interest as a puppy, but now as a dapper young man he enjoys them. Maybe the adult teeth make a difference.

I have not noticed any crumbling.
(I've never tried heating up the small pieces, though, so don't know anything about that)

So funny that Ginger hides them - My Ginger does the same thing! Makes us all laugh, because she isn't very good at it. She hits them in the most obvious places.
