DaniGirl's death

We've had to put our beloved pets to sleep in our 36 years of marriage but DaniGirl's death is so different. She added such a sweetness to our lives with her gentle personality. We got her when she was 7. She didn't like loud noises--I couldn't call to my husband on the other side of the house without Dani getting scared--and thunder or even pounding caused her to shake.

I thought we were taking Dani in to help her but instead, the Lord used her to bless us. She was with us during painful times in our life and stayed close. She'd bring smiles during the tears and there was nothing better to see than when she'd run that special championship trot when coming in the door. She was gentle and I miss that.

We've helped people with grief counseling over the years and I can see those steps to recovery in Dani's death. She was more than a dog, she was part of our heart. And she is still missed but I'm a better person because of her influence in my life.

So, so sorry to hear of your loss. I'm so glad that she brought such comfort and pleasure to your lives, as I'm sure you did to hers. We, too, have had many pets die over our almost 49 years of marriage and although they were all special in their own way, our first Hav, Bailey, is the one, so far, who tugged at my hear strings. RIP DaniGirl. You will be missed.

Mary (miss you, Bailey-1996-2011 and Tyler-1997-2015)

I am so sorry for your loss. It is so amazing that a little ball of fluff can fill up so much space in your heart.
