What are you using for flea and tick prevention?

Hi everyone!

I just ran out of my last vial of frontline plus, and I need some advice on whether to try a new brand or keep up with the frontline. I apologize in advance for the long post...

Although I have yet to see any fleas or ticks, the weather here is just starting to warm up (Western PA), which means those pesky little critters will be out soon, too. We have a huge deer population, so I'm especially concerned about ticks.

Last year was the first time I've ever seen fleas on my babies and we were using frontline. It wasn't a major infestation, just one or two, but still enough to freak me out. I've heard so many people say that frontline is not working anymore, but I'm nervous to try another brand, as my little girl Hav, Kahlua, is really small (10 pounds) with kind of sensitive skin. My vet seems to like this new collar (Seresto), but it has to stay on all the time, even when they are bathed. My guys usually don't wear their collars in the house and I groom them pretty often, so I'm not sure if the collars would be the best option, especially with matting.

Has anyone had any luck with these collars or any other brand of flea and tick prevention besides frontline? Thank you for any advice!!!

I posed this question a couple of months back and it seemed the general consensus was that most people used frontline plus or K9 Advantix II.

Molly is 5 months old and just under 5 lbs. She has had no problems with the K9 Advantix II. She has had two applications so far.
